Truly brilliant!!
She put it to bed pretty quickly!!
October 1, 2017 at 15:26 #1319662Brametot got slaughtered by Order of St George. He made up late ground after having to stop and go again, but I think he would have finished in the places with a better ride/passage.
I’m hoping they keep him in training because he got the trip well and would love to see him go again next year. I’m also hopeful they take him to Champions Day, because if he runs then he wins in my opinion. I’ve took 17.5 on the Exchange.

October 1, 2017 at 15:30 #1319665Also, stunning from Enable. Hopefully she stays in training as a four year old.
October 1, 2017 at 15:32 #1319667Easy as pie for Enable. Slaughtered her field. That’s why Cracksman never ran.
I was proud of Cloth Of Stars effort at 40/1 odds and Brametot ran a funny sort of race, far more prominent than normal and then getting into a bit of bother before staying on a bit.
As I had said, I didn’t fancy Capri and he was woeful. The Derby form looked ropey to me and Leger winners never excite me for an Arc. Capri was last in the end and it’s just my feeling that it wasn’t a good batch of 3YO middle distance colts this year.
Well done everyone who was on Enable early. Shutter Speed was supposed to be Gosden’s best coming into the season and that did look true, for all of three minutes. She went down the hill and back to the stables, while Enable was the one who donned her mountain gear and rose to the summit, where she brought out her flag that bears the legend “Milk, Lemonade, Chocolate” and waved it towards Shutter Speed and Aidan O’ Brien.

Terrific filly and the horse of the year surely. Ryan Moore on Winter suggested they didn’t have a great hand and they never got a place out of it, after a 1-2-3 last year. This was a better Arc than last season’s.
Lovely to watch and I never had a penny on her.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.

Frankie controlled it great, too. We have seen plenty jockeys butcher races, when on the best animal and in much smaller fields. Frankie made sure nothing boxed him in at any stage. Gotta love that Nathaniel´s stud fee was dropped from 20k to 17.5k, cause his two year olds didn´t produce immediate results.
October 1, 2017 at 15:42 #1319670What an outstanding horse and what a straight-forward ride from Frankie. He left nothing to chance and the form was upheld with Ulysses finishing the same distance behind her as at Ascot.
And it’s a great result for British racing in so many ways. It’s a boost for Epsom and it’s great to see a King George winner win the Arc in the same year again.
Such a great filly and I’m happy to say I saw her in the flesh (twice!). I still vividly remember seeing her lose at Newbury when I was there that day and I remember thinking she didn’t look anything special and if you told me then she’d win the Arc I’d have laughed at you!
I remember when I next saw her at Ascot just how much she’d grown and muscled up. I hope she stays in training and bids to win the Arc at Longchampe as I’ll be there next year and it’ll be nice to see her try and win two King Georges as well.
Not many side point other than I think Ulysses is definitely the next best horse in the race, given the way he was ridden with Cloth Of Stars just picking him off as a tired horse late on having never been in the race when it heated up. Winter was all-dressed up with nowhere to go and it wouldn’t have been interesting to see how she would have got on if the gaps opened. Order Of St George has done no damage to his reputation and I think Capri was definitely feeling the exhaustions of Doncaster but we should forgive him that if he re-appears next year.
October 1, 2017 at 15:43 #1319671She seems keen enough to get on with things. Imagine what she could be like as a more settled 4 year old.
Gosden suggested it would be the right thing to do. Down to you Mr. Abdullah
October 1, 2017 at 15:45 #1319672If anyone sees any quotes from trainers about any of the runners, could you post them here? Would be interesting to see what’s happening with the horses following this, especially the 3yos.
Trainer John Gosden said: “She’s very special and she was well positioned by Frankie in order to show her sheer class and brilliance.
“It’s all about the filly and the owner-breeder Prince Khalid [Abdullah]. He bred the mother and for his farm to produce something like this is exciting for us all.
“I think it would be wrong to run her again this year. I think to go to the Breeders’ Cup would be wrong, too hard on the filly.
“If she’s in great form we should consider next year. Maybe it would be wonderful to go to the opening of the new Longchamp and try to do it again.”
October 1, 2017 at 15:49 #1319673No idea why Ashiana is 56-1 for the Opera and Lacazar is 6-1. There is not that much between the German fillies at all.
October 1, 2017 at 15:52 #1319674As I had said, I didn’t fancy Capri and he was woeful. The Derby form looked ropey to me and Leger winners never excite me for an Arc. Capri was last in the end and it’s just my feeling that it wasn’t a good batch of 3YO middle distance colts this year.
I’m sorry Steve but you cannot judge Capri on that run. The colt was badly positioned in the race and never looked happy at all. Considering it was only 2 weeks ago he was running his eyes out to win a hot renewal of the St Leger I’m certain we should all forgive him that run. My word, he’d hardly be the first top class Group 1 winner to run a poor race in an Arc (St Nicholas Abbey, Treasure Beach, Kris Kin, Authorized, Found, Motivator, Workforce, etc…)
October 1, 2017 at 15:54 #1319675JC Rouget clearly not happy with how things panned out for Brametot. He wasn’t sure what will happen with him now.

Capri never looked in Enable class all season though.

Enable must be pretty good, then!
October 1, 2017 at 16:02 #1319680Finally got my money back on Rhododendron today after losing heavily on her in the Guineas & Oaks.
You had to back her really, as you all say – look who it took to beat her at Epsom!

Agreed. When Winter pulled out of the race, her price dropped to 5.50. Then when Ryan chose the other one, her price nearly doubled! I managed to get her at 9.00.
Lady Frankel was my second choice – I felt sick when she was making her way through the field.
