One bit of info for those who fancy Drop Out Joe is that the owner says it’s been a rush to get him ready in time and is not sure if he is fit enough (RUK website).
April 7, 2017 at 20:52 #1295836Absolutely brilliant write up Ginge!!!
I hope you are right with Definitly Red LOL
But if Vicente wins I will be shouting and they will hear me in Leeds!!
April 7, 2017 at 21:22 #1295847Well done Ginge I’ll settle for your write up on More of that pal…If you could just wish me and Bobby good luck with our 1000/1 vouchers.
April 7, 2017 at 22:43 #1295866Somewhere in November I’ve backed Vicente and earlier this year I’ve backed Houblon des Obeaux and Ucello Conti. Took a final look at the runners this evening and added Vieux Lion Rouge.
Good luck all.
April 7, 2017 at 23:53 #1295884My list is
Vicente
Highland Lodge
Saint Are
Drop Out Joe
all E/W
If the winner isn’t in there, I hope it’s on this thread – good luck allApril 8, 2017 at 01:36 #1295912Superb piece of analysis Ginger, thoroughly enjoyed reading through it
Two of my three ante posts have at least made it to the big day, Foxrock has
decided to head for the Irish version as it’s not soft enough at Aintree. I
still have THE YOUNG MASTER who I took last year at 33/1. He’s
below that now, but I hope he has put his run in the Becher behind him, he
didn’t look too keen on the fences that day, but as you mentioned Ginger, this
surely has been the plan all year so I hope we see the best of him.I’ve also got LE MERCUREY, and I agree that he looks well
handicapped on his runnings behind Native River and Many Clouds. I also agree
this is going to test his stamina, it’s a big unknown, but I backed Seabass
a few years back, on his 1st run in this when he was 3rd, and the same was being
said about him being essentially a 2m4f speedier type. I hope he does as well as
Seabass, I’d settle for 3rd at 66s. I see he’s still readily available at that price,
I wouldn’t even be surprised to see a couple of firms offering 100/1 in the morning.
I’m just daft enough to top up on that if they doI’ll probably have another one or two in the morning if I think they are overpriced.

I’ve won money on the last 5 Grand Nationals, here’s hoping for 6.

Thanks Gord,
If you have good luck then someone else must have bad luck.
So I’ll wish everyone no luck – good or bad. May the best horse win.
Can say if I don’t win hope you and Bobby do.You’re exaggerating again, it’s 999/1.
Value Is EverythingApril 8, 2017 at 03:02 #1295932GT, That’s the best preview you’ve written over the years I’ve been here. Timeform would be proud of something like that.
A general remark on One For Arthur not just for your review; I haven’t seen it mentioned elsewhere…the fitting of the tongue tie last time could be a significant factor in his improvement.
I see Timeform mention the first time tongue tie for OFA last time, Joe. Tried not to look at their write ups when doing the preview. tbh OFA was already on the up at the time of the Classic Chase and was always going to be suited by a thorough test of stamina; so doubt it was that significant. Going to be very difficult with those tactics on good ground unless they go too fast. I’ve deliberately lessened the chance of the hold up merchants in my “book”.

1.
Cracking write up. Great stuff.
I posted my preview for the first time onto here on the DLAP section but this is 1000 times more detailed.
As for the race, I’m delighted to have all three of my antepost bets running: Vicente, The Last Samurai and One For Arthur
The latter being a big bet for me. The other two small plays
April 8, 2017 at 10:56 #1296002Well done Ginge I’ll settle for your write up on More of that pal…If you could just wish me and Bobby good luck with our 1000/1 vouchers.
Best of luck to all, but especially you 2. I’ll certainly be cheering him on for you both.
Has anyone had a 1000-1 shot win on here BTW in the past ?
April 8, 2017 at 11:08 #1296008My main bets are
The Young Master
Houblon Des Obeaux
Saint Are
One For ArthurWith a small sidebet on
BlaklionTwitter=@PGHenn
So don't run, just like the others always do
April 8, 2017 at 11:28 #1296015Going to war with Vieux Lion Rouge, More Of That, Houblon Des Obeaux, O’Faolains Boy, Tenor Nivernais and Saint Are!
The ground looks pretty dead to me. I wouldn’t rule out anything that ‘needs it soft’.
April 8, 2017 at 11:38 #1296018The Bet365 concession on basically returning the ew part of the stake has encouraged me to have quite a few ew.
So it’s 10ew Rogue Angel and Blaklion, 5ew More of That, Definitly Red and Measureofmydreams, 3ew Lord Windermere and Wounded Warrior. Plus a quid ew O’Faolains Boy in the hunt for a 100-1 winner.
As I’ve omitted Thunder & Roses of the Giggs runners, that’s the one that will win.

That Bet365 concession has allowed punters to sell their place part on betfair. I’ve concentrated on the place market this morning.
Why would anyone back Definitely Red @ 11/1 for the win when you can get over 6/1 to finish in the first 4?
The Last Samuri @ 5/1 for the place is also exceptional value!Value Is EverythingApril 8, 2017 at 11:55 #1296026I’ve added a couple yesterday, Drop Out Joe 66’s to 80’s ew, as he’s a horse I’ve put up here several times in the past, and it would be too painful to miss out. Owners cautious comments that he’s not fully prepped for this following the setback, sealed the deal…………….I’m sure they’d not be running if that were the case. A tip in itself, and thanks to GM for that info.
Drop Out Joe has a brilliant record fresh and therefore obviously doesn’t take much getting fit.
