Fair play to Nakeeta backers. I had Natural Scenery, one of the many hard-luck stories of the race.
August 26, 2017 at 16:37 #1315878Hope you were on Charles. Good ride from the lad apart from dropping one rein close home!!

And Mrsraymo backed the winner and the second !!
Natural Scenery did look a little unlucky too!!
And well done G with Arch Villain

August 26, 2017 at 17:56 #1315891Cheers Raymo and Bobby, I just got back in, I was at the Cowal Games all afternoon
and didn’t see any of the races. Just watched this one back and although
disappointed with Scarlet Dragon, I was chuffed with the run off ARCH VILLAIN.
I though with a couple to go he might have held on, but in the end I was thankful
he kept on well for 4th. I’ll need to miss the racing more often, it was good coming
back and finding out I had SOUNDS OF MALI at 14s, HOLMESWOOD at 9/2 and BROROCCO
placed at 12s (all in Nathan’s Ebor Compy and both mentioned in Jac and Bob’s too)
Very well done to Mrs Raymo, she is having some run of late
You mentioned you were interested in NAKEETA Charles, I hope you bet him mate, that
was a nice 12/1 winner
August 26, 2017 at 18:17 #1315895WD BigG on the place.
August 26, 2017 at 22:19 #1315911I invested a small amount on Nakeeta to cover about half my stake in the race but with Natural Scenery placing I managed a tiny profit that isn’t worth writing home about. I think having considered Nakeeta at 22/1 earlier in the week and then seeing no better than 14/1 on offer this morning I kind of couldn’t bring myself to have a proper bet and so only daddled with a saving-grace sort of bet and went for some small bets on Battersea & Ivan Grozny who’s prices seemed less deflated than when I was looking earlier in the week.
I’m annoyed with myself but a big well done to those of you on.
I still think Natural Scenery should of won though. I watched the race on a TV at Goodwood today and will admit to letting myself down with an cry of ‘f***king Eddie Greatrex’ near some rather elderly racegoers, an outburst which I’m sure did nothing for their opinions of my age-group.
August 27, 2017 at 01:35 #1315929Ohhh dear Lord just watched the replay and how the hell didn’t Natural Scenery win the race i had a e/w bet on him but omg he was cruising found more trouble than mcgregor is going to be in …. Jesus i must expect it being an hold up horse but he surely was the best horse in that race if he had clear run i think he would of won easy
August 27, 2017 at 10:07 #1315950Natural Scenery didn’t have as good a draw as the winner, plus having a claimer on board possibly means that little bit of lesser experience wouldn’t help with luck in running.Even though it’s always a good idea to stick with claimers in the race [1st and 3rd this year out of 5 claimers in the race] I suppose you win some and you lose some. And, just goes to show how vitally important a good draw is. Still my favourite race of the year [has overtaken the National in the respect]. Am actually going to pay more attention to what Hayley Turner says about horses prior to the races as she seems to have good insight into which horses are burning up the gallops.NS a very unlucky loser.

Tell me about it

There doesn’t look like that many suitable races for her here from now on so I wonder if they might send her to Australia. I’m sure she could mop up a few staying races over there.

Another member of the Natural Scenery could of won club also signing in. Not watched the replay yet, but can imagine it will look even worse than it did live.

She has 3 entries 2 at Ascot ( G1 & G2 ) and also the Cesarewitch beforehand. Seemed to get 2 miles ok in the Northumberland Plate, so the 25’s looks more than fair. Recovery mission started @ 25’s

She’s entered in the Long Distance Cup and Fillies & Mares on Champions Day. If the ground comes up good, she wouldn’t be without a chance in either (though I would prefer her in the former). There’s also the French St. Leger, which I think she’d be perfect for.
