Nobody think Guitar Pete has a squeak tomorrow at 16s? Finally got his head in front again at Wetherby a few weeks back and considering his peak rating was 146 he may have a bit in hand off 134 if he’s back on an upward curve.
He’s my main eachway bet, can see the horse running on strongly at the finish and agree that he may be well in off his current mark. Its a tough race though and have had other bets on Starchitect and Theinval.
BTW, Tunstall – the place, is only 2 miles away from me
November 18, 2017 at 11:26 #1327339Think there’s three interesting choices at big prices in this
Plaisir d’Amour
Double Treasure
Days Of HeavenSo am going on all three, because why not?
Was close to going for Tully East, but a feeling told me no. He’ll probably win now!

So don't run, just like the others always do
November 18, 2017 at 12:06 #1327354Unoriginal but I fancy Kylemore Lough strongly in this race. The horse comes out top on adjusted RPRs based on his form with his previous trainer, has big field course form, likes Soft, jumps well. Kerry Lee is a very good trainer but Harry Fry is better and has excellent running-to-form and strike rates. So Fry is likely to have improved the top rated horse per se. However, in addition he has put on a first time tongue tie – a separate reason to expect improvement.
November 18, 2017 at 12:21 #1327356Added a small EW on Double Treasure at 33’s, 5 places
November 18, 2017 at 13:10 #1327370Added two win bets t go with my each-wayer on Double Treasure (28/1). They are Foxtail Hill (10/1) and Starchitect (9/1). The former still doesn’t look too badly weighted despite his continues winning form and represents a trainer in top form. Jamie’s claim will help and the soft ground will hold no fears for him after defeating Saphir Du Rheu on bad ground back in January round here. As for Starchitect, I feel a mark of 144 is well within his compass given he was 5th at the festival of 145 over this trip. He’s got acres of form on bad ground including when 2nd on heavy in last year’s Betfair Hurdle at Newbury. He too represents a stable in form and is a horse I’ve always liked.
Looking at the posts here, I’m pretty sure a few of us should be happy no matter the result. Here’s hoping!
November 18, 2017 at 13:11 #1327371Taken 28/1 about Double Treasure each-way 5 places with Paddy Power. It seems a tad too big to me for a trainer I really like and an improving young horse who doesn’t seem to know the meaning of the word ceiling.
Couldn’t agree more Charles, I thought I was doing well taking him at 20s the best part
of a week ago. I’ve had another nibble at 28s with Paddy Power, he’s got to be the value
e/w 5 places.A bit annoyed now I see he’s freely available at 33s and SkyBet go 6 places! I know where he’ll finish now…
November 18, 2017 at 13:14 #1327372Personally, I think he’s over-priced @ 7/1 for the Betvictor; that’s 7/1 not odds-on. Of course it’s possible to poke holes in a horse at that price. It’s just that imo he’s roughly an 18% chance; fair 9/2 shot. ie I expect him to be around 4/1 come Saturday.
What price is Kylemore Lough almost across the board on oddschecker now?
Value Is EverythingNovember 18, 2017 at 13:43 #1327388I’m on romain De Senam at 11/1
Not sure how I feel about this rain though

4/1 Now on Oddschecker- 5.6/5.70 on Betfair. You put us on at 7/1

November 18, 2017 at 14:20 #1327402Kylemore Lough looks a certainty here + I have added Le Prezien as well

I hope you’re not right about the 6th place Charles, that would be a sore one. I’m
more than surprised with the 33s, and I’ve stuck another tenner e/w on him with Betvictor.
To be honest the only reason I’ve added the bet is that Betvictor emailed with an offer of
if your horse is a loser in the Betvictor Gold Cup, you get a free bet to the same value
(up to £20) at Cheltenham tomorrow. Absolutely nothing to lose there, so I stuck it on. It
is worrying that the betting vibes are not good, but the bets are on so that’s that. Good luckNovember 18, 2017 at 14:25 #1327405Kylemore Lough looks a certainty here + I have added Le Prezien as well
A certainty in an 18 runner handicap chase on testing ground? hmmmm
Hope you’re right: I’ve bet him too, I admire your optimism!
November 18, 2017 at 14:27 #1327406With Skybet going 6 places I couldn’t resist a late e/w nab on Splash Of Ginge at 50/1.

I CAN’T BELIEVE IT
November 18, 2017 at 14:34 #1327409Well played Charles, stealing in late with that one. What a wonderful result, I think we could all enjoy that whether we backed it or not.
Also: in your eye Harry Fry!
