Really like Blaklion for this at 9/2
NTD very confident and has surely not run to form with the national weights on mind.
February 18, 2017 at 12:51 #1287875Not at all Raymo
Both look solid chances without the unfortunate news that they have our support lolFebruary 18, 2017 at 13:43 #1287892I hope Houblon des Obeaux runs a good race as I’ve backed him for the National.
February 18, 2017 at 15:35 #1287921Gutted as I backed Blaklion each way but all set for the national now!
What did everyone else think of his jumping though?
February 18, 2017 at 15:51 #1287929Unlucky Blaklion backers, you had some very fancy prices. Hope you were on EW.
Gord, you’re an excellent judge in handicaps.
February 18, 2017 at 15:55 #1287931My post was meant to say I didn’t back it each way.
February 18, 2017 at 16:27 #1287938Congrats to Peter .h for identifying Vieux Lion Rouge
and bad luck to
all that had Blaklion, he lost nothing in defeat. Two brave horses, both well
in with a shout for the big one at Aintree
February 18, 2017 at 16:56 #1287941That was a poor race for me, didn’t lose much on Sausalito and Vicente, but Cloudy Too was a sore one. Strange choice for him today that Ascot race, Haydock was much more suitable, but that should see him down another few pounds, and assuming he retains enough ability (which I think he does) then keep him in mind for a decent handicap before the seasons out.
VLR looks a worthy favourite for Aintree at the moment, and another nice pick Peter, well done.
February 18, 2017 at 18:57 #1287962Well done Peter and good EW result for Gord. Nice boost for One For Arthur in GN
February 19, 2017 at 20:28 #1288113Last week I’m counting my winnings 2 out, this week the boots on the other foot, thats the difference between winning and losing..Jubilation,elation and all things good in the world when you win..Watching Blaklion get nailed is like a kick in the balls…and a poke in the eye when its a horse I’ve won from this season in ‘Vieux Lion Rouge’ who himself put me onto ‘One for Arthur’ but thats racing and we have to take the good with the bad…I’m sure both todays first 2 will play major roles in the National it was a solid performance under those weights.
February 19, 2017 at 20:46 #1288115I love Blaklion but if being just a little critical I would like to see him finish his races off a little better but that’s not to take away anything from the winner. Nice pick for you Peterh
