Could be a tidy race this, if a lot of them stand their ground.

Some very nice ones in there, but there’s a few “lesser lights” catching the eye here…..
Desert Cry – Won in good style at Carlisle a couple of weeks back, and though not the kind of competition he’ll face here. Maybe hard to win this off of a 4 lb rise, but at 25’s, he does appeal each way.
Regal Encore – In and out, but ran very well in The National, and also managed to score at Ascot. This could be perfect for him, he’s on a handy mark. Has entries in some of the up and coming big handicap chases, and this could be the plan for a prep run, but I seem him as a dark horse for this also at 25’s
Sam Spinner – Much improved performer, and hailing from an unfashionable yard, he may just go a couple of points bigger than he’s entitled to be. Very much on my shortlist here, and the 12’s looks just about right. Very nice run at Chepstow last month, and he’s the early bet EW.
Massini’s Trap – Ran well at Aintree a few weeks back, after a couple of disappointing efforts. His mark looks on the harsh side, but one to note if he makes the trip, and as trainer can get him ready for a target, the 33’s looks fair each way.
The Dutchman – Ran to a decent enough standard over fences as a Novice, when with Sandy Thomson, and he’s surprisingly switched to Colin Tizzard. Apparently had a breathing op, and could be a dark horse, with potential improvement to come at 14’s.
No bet just now, but I may play one of these each way at the 5 Day Stage.
November 19, 2017 at 17:56 #1327705Of the ones likely to show up; I quite like Zarkandar. Willing to forgive his no show at Aintree last time out and with a hint of class I can see him going well here.
Another one I like is Hello George. Shaped well when just touched off last time and although up another 3lbs for that effort, I reckon this race could suit. I’ll just hand fire for declaration first…
November 19, 2017 at 21:38 #1327737PFN holding the weight card with silsol/zark near the top.
He does have a few lower down, will be watching closely what he leaves in.
Le Rocher 141 looks a dark one, gentle intro lto, plenty form in heavy, stepping up if entered.
Closing Ceremony 135 had his problems, dropping to a dangerous mark, run well here in the past.
Already giving it as soft,as ever need the decs, powder firmly dry.
November 19, 2017 at 23:48 #1327750Yeah Flyers, Closing Ceremony certainly acts round there ok. I liked him for The Fixed Brush last year, and he certainly got an entry, but he never made it. Nice horse, shame about those problems, but big chance if over them.
November 20, 2017 at 12:41 #1327781Really like Sam Spinner at 12’s in this! Unexposed and his second at Chepstow looks strong form…4th, 6th. 7th and 8th in that race all boosted the form since…won in soft too which could be crucial..
November 20, 2017 at 13:06 #1327782Usually a halfway house for hurdlers going chasing this but with the powers that be switching the race to regulation hurdles this year it could take a bit of the gloss off. Looking forward to seeing Fixe Le Kap jumping a fence and over the fixed brush hurdles I’d likely be all over him. Could still have enough in this though, although whether he’d line up against stablemate Thomas Campbell is another matter.
If he runs Fixe Le Kap is my play.
November 20, 2017 at 17:16 #1327807Surely if THE WORLDS END turns up he would be very interesting after last years progression.
But I know not whether he will turn up! But if he does the 6/1 available will look massive!!The other one I may be interested in is CHAMPERS ON ICE who has ran some good races over hurdles against some seriously useful animals and at 20/1 could be worth a punt.
November 22, 2017 at 17:07 #1328052Champers on ice for me @14/1. Has started shortening up and can see the horse being near favorite come saturday.
November 22, 2017 at 17:52 #1328060Will be a play on the day race for me but the three that interest me most have all been mentioned on this thread already – Sam Spinner, The Worlds End and Champers on Ice
November 24, 2017 at 17:25 #1328310I’ve backed The Dutchman at 14s (really got to get on with getting a Skybet account, available at 18s with them).
November 24, 2017 at 17:48 #1328315I am happy with my two and just would like to add a word for Gayebury who has a squeak on last years form especially the run at Chepstow and at 2/1 6 places with skybet could be interesting.
Good Luck guys
November 24, 2017 at 18:22 #1328322Robbin hannon 25/1 e/w
November 24, 2017 at 20:16 #1328353I’ll take the chance that the switch to Tizzard, has did the trick for The Dutchman, and that 16’s, 6 Places with Sportsbook looks fair to me.
Sam Spinner 12’s
The Dutchman 16’s EW 6 PlacesNovember 24, 2017 at 20:37 #1328360I’m in The Worlds End camp this season but I think Champers and Sam Spinner both have form claims. The latter ran a blinder in the Silver Trophy and that’s arguably the best handicap hurdle thus far
November 24, 2017 at 20:45 #1328363This Zarkanda looks a nice e/w price @ 25’s if fit for this. Always runs well FTO and ran some of his best races on Soft / Heavy. A mark of 150 is fair enough also .
November 24, 2017 at 21:00 #1328370Gayebury will love the conditions and I’m willing to forgive his reappearance, assuming he needed it. I think he’s a really smart sort and don’t think he’s badly handicapped.
November 24, 2017 at 22:06 #1328375Zarkandar @ 25’s.
