Same about Grey Dolphin about Black Apalachi
This year i like PREISTS LEAP 130/1 on betfair at the moment
February 5, 2009 at 20:38 #208333I know backing a novice could be considered heresy but Big Fella Thanks at 50/1 is very tempting.
February 6, 2009 at 03:28 #208406If the Aon gets cancelled won’t this have quite an effect on the weights for the race, given that any horse doing well in the Aon would have his handicap rating hiked up accordingly?
February 6, 2009 at 09:00 #208430The same applies to the Hennessy Gold Cup at Leopardstown on Sunday.
I’d be quite pleased if it was put back a couple of days, so that Notre Pere doesn’t have a chance of going up (unless he wins).
February 6, 2009 at 20:07 #208499I can’t see him running in the National; am going to back him for the Gold Cup because you often get a horse with a big price staying on for a place.
February 6, 2009 at 20:22 #208502Want to see NP in France tbh – 3m 5f on Heavy will be right up his street
February 9, 2009 at 15:22 #209152How now is Phil Smoth going to treat the Aon Chase? Clearly that win has done Madison de Berlais no good and all but ended his hopes, but what kind of mark will Denman get. I can’t believe they run him, but if he took longer to get ready for Cheltenham and they decided not to bother, and if Smith drops him 10lbs or more, he would be on a handy enough old mark and there would be a lot more horse running off different marks to what they may have thought, even if he ran.
February 9, 2009 at 17:07 #209172Well that answers that question. Denman out of the GN, RP headline.
February 9, 2009 at 17:59 #209182There goes a lot of good horses out of the race IMO

Not a good weekend for Phil Smith what with being trapped in the lift at Kempton for an hour with Mike Dillon. Guess they will have worked a few things out

February 10, 2009 at 19:48 #209476Apologies Uncle Gordon
Jonjo has come out with fighting talk about Exotic Dancer running in the GN.
Apparently, no one seems to be taking any notice of him, because he is still 80s!

February 10, 2009 at 20:07 #209479Having just had a proper look at the race, I agree with Roddy Owen.
Just watched the romp in the Sky Bet, [expletive] stats, this horse has a future.
The 33’s won’t be there for long; this is a plot horse, and he has nice e/w claims in what looks a pretty average renewal to me.
What’s the breeding suggest Kendal?
20/1 now and very strong
February 10, 2009 at 20:15 #209483Roddy
do you have to be careful about having a bet on another horse, just in case there a change of mind and Iron Man runs in the GN instead of the Topham?
Gerald
