I don’t normally pay any attention to this.
Is it correct for Ryan Moore to be 1/6 or 1/8 to win this? He doesn’t seem to be pulling away yet.
How do we know he won’t do a Frankie, and put quality above quantity?
Hanagan is riding a hell of a lot of horses – it is just that Fahey hasn’t had too many winners in the past couple of weeks.
I’m thinking of opening a VC account, just to take the 50/1 tomorrow.
Is this reasonable?

I’ll have a few quid on Richard Hughes if you’re paying?
May 8, 2009 at 09:26 #226271Whilst Ryan Moore is trading at prices up to1/6 to be crowned Champion Jockey this season he has not been seen over here riding on the A/W every other day like Joe Fanning Chris Cattlin and others.
Once Ryan starts the heavy task of doing 2 meetings a day when the Evening racing kicks in fully he will I am sure be leading the Championship yet again.
Living in the same City where the Moore family started out from I have followed his progress since he started race riding.
In 2001 Ryan had 34 rides on mainly poor horses that his father trained and he failed to ride a single winner. Even his brrother Jamie managed 2 wins on the flat that year.
2002 Was modest wih 39 winners.
I think Ryan passed his driving test in 2003 and he started to travel a lot more that year and ended up with 59 winners but a modest 9% s/r as he took 627 rides.
In 2004 things got better wih 132 winners and he ended up 5th in the jockeys championship.
2005 I backed him @33/1 to win the Champoinship but he ended up with 120 winners
In 2006 Ryan rode 182 winners that year to secure the title.
2007 Injuries cost Ryan the title that year but he rode 128 winners from just 675 rides.
In 2008 Ryan regained his title with 192 winners a 19% s/r and 39 more winners than the runner up Jamie Spencer managed.
I have seen Ryan and his brothers and sisters ride on the ‘gallops’ when they must have been around 10 years old (which used to be just strips of grass around the Sheepcote Rubbish Tip before Gary laid down the woodchip gallops.
They both used to lead round father Gary’s A/W plodders in the school holidays.
Whilst Ryan is like his father and reticent towards jounalists there is no doubt that from that modest start to he has become a World Class jockey and a credit to racing.
May 10, 2009 at 17:25 #226645At the odds then Ryan Moore is too short. One injury or long suspension during the summer can prove very costly! For me Richard Hughes is value. Number one jockey for Hannon yard and they have loads of 2yo winners.
July 22, 2010 at 13:36 #307909Premature ejaculation.
Didn’t have a bet this year.
July 22, 2010 at 15:46 #307936Have we suddenly lost interest in the 2010 jockey title race or have the Ryan Moore fans gone to bed? There is a new kid on the block, have you noticed?Paul baby Hanagan.
July 22, 2010 at 18:28 #307955I hope Hanagan is not recording the RUK interviews, come November he won’t want to watch
July 23, 2010 at 12:02 #308058I cannot personally get too exercised about the jockey’s championship.
What does it prove other than who stays on the daily treadmill longest?
Moore is winning classics, group and other races in the generally more competitive south.
Suspensions are likely to play a significant part.
Moore got 2 days for an innocuous incident at Epsom last night.
Hughes effectively ended any chance by taking a week off and missing 6-8 Hannon winners to avoid any chance of suspension ruling him out of Glorious Goodwood.
Someone will fall foul of "totting up" procedures soon and get a lengthy ban
July 25, 2010 at 14:19 #308566had money on hanagan at 25s he is hungry for it this year and a well decent jock to
