I’ve had an early tickle here simply owing to a stable trend I’ve spotted over recent years.
Air Force Blue, Churchill and Gustav Klimt all made their racecourse debuts in the 6 furlong maiden event on Irish 2000 Guineas day, with all three lining up well touted and highly fancied for the English equivalent the following year. Of course only Churchill scored at Newmarket although I’d say it shows that, presumably, Aidan’s better 2 year old future Guineas prospects will tend to be aimed here.
On Saturday the Ballydoyle battalion send out The Acropolis to continue this trend. This son of Churchill was also entered in the Marble Hill on the same day, which may seemingly shed some more light on the kind of regard that he’s held in.
William Hill were kind enough to offer me 66/1 which I was more than happy to chuck a few coins at. The early bird catches the worm folks

The Acropolis 66/1

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!May 21, 2021 at 18:34 #1541671It was the same maiden at least, Jack, just shifted around on the schedule
June 6, 2021 at 13:17 #1544078The Acropolis won the opening maiden at Listowel today, with the minimum of fuss. And he has clearly taken a step forward from his debut when he was very green.
The enhanced 75/1 I got with Hills for this race is a dream which is still alive…
