Last years thread didnt go too badly so might have another go at it betting blind from saudi arabia, and see how it goes.
First bet:
Haydock 120
Kudu Country 2pt win @ 7/2Doesnt want it too be any sort of furious paced slog, but often these soft ground contests dont turn out that way, and the horse should love the ground and go very well in it, on that basis he has a cracking chance.
November 5, 2009 at 13:28 #257233Happy with that start
+7pts
November 7, 2009 at 12:18 #257587Sandown 245
0.5pt e/w, 0.5 pt win Classic Fly @ 20-1Reckon this is quite competetive looking but he’s low in the weights and should like the ground, worth a small bet.
Sandown 140
Bakhov 0.5pt e/w, 0.5pt win @ 66-1 (Bet365)
Would want a slow pace but has ground in his favour and if it isnt a slog he could be overpriced.
November 13, 2009 at 14:52 #258501Running Total +4pts
Cheltenham 405
Wierd Al 2pt win @ 20-1
Noticed this one entered in the paddy power earlier and found him to be quite interesting if it came up gd-sft. He’s been dropped into this race instead and although he’s got a few decent opponents here, most notably in the form of decent ex hurdlers in the form of Ashkazar and Aigle D’Or, but this is a chase and at 20-1 i think he’s worth a bet in a 6 horse race.
November 13, 2009 at 16:27 #2585192pts on Wierd Al @ 20-1 returns 42pts
Runing Total= +44pts
Happy with that.

Damn these two mile hurdle races disguised as 2m 4f novice chases

Nicely done, Bulwark.
November 13, 2009 at 19:56 #258538You’ll sometimes find with this thread MG that it isnt always 2 mile hurdle races that the bet is in, as was the case last year too. Sometimes it could be a 2mile 4f hurdle too. Sometimes in 2 mile hurdles you will see one that you think wants further, or some that are going into chasing from 2mile hurdles. So I suppose 2mile hurdles is more of a reference point than a specific race. In this case it was just a case of a few of last years big 2 mile hurdlers going chasing against a chaser who I found interesting to oppose them at a decent price.
All good fun though, just hope can I carry on the trend, but that gives me a bit to mess about with.

Cheltenham 345
Eyeffess 1pt e/w 1pt win @ 25-1 (Paddy Power)
I do like Vinnies Friend for this but think he is too short for a race like this and think this horse also has trip and ground in his favour at a far better price so worth a bet on that basis.
Couer De Fou 1pt win @ 25-1 (Totesport)
Suspect this one may have trip and ground in his favour and think it does seem strange with his recent run of form that Tom George sees fit to be stepping him up in class in quite a competitive race, he’s low in the weights with a decent trainer/jockey combination, and worthy of a small bet in case he can muster something of a bit of form.
Greatwood Hurdle – Antepost
Issaquah 2pt e/w @ 20-1
Have always liked her, and think she didnt really have things go her way much towards the end of last season. However think she will have plenty in her favour on sunday, think she still has improvement on her rating and can see her putting in a decent run.
November 14, 2009 at 12:23 #258615Wetherby 110
Rose Larkin 1pt e/w 1pt win @ 40-1 (Bet 365)
Has ground conditions in her fvour for first time and think she could potentially go well here.
Cheltenham 1250
Olofi 2pt win @ 12/1 (Stan James)
Do quite like pistolet noir but not at his price and think the extra rain will give an advantage to this one potentially.
Cheltenham 310
Earth Planet 4pts win @ 11/1 (Blue Square)
Think on this ground he could potentially be the bet of the day. Obviously not a 2 mile hurdler but been running in 2mile 4f races and think he has everything right today.
November 14, 2009 at 16:33 #258639Running Total +27 pts (with 4 on Issaquah)
Cheltenham 110 tomorrow
Five Dream 5pts win @ 9-1 (Bet 365)
Four horse race on soft ground with a soft ground specialist as the rank outsider. Bet of the day tomorrow IMO.
Greatwood Hurdle
Medermit 2pt win @ 14-1 (BET365)
He may be running off top weight but think this is potentially a grade one horse on tomorrows conditions and on that basis he warrants a hell of a lot of respect IMO.
Cockney Trucker 1pt win @ 20-1
Quite a decent little horse from the hobbs yard who should love the soft ground, is low in the weights and looks to have improvement, would be foolish to leave out at that price.
November 14, 2009 at 19:49 #258677Punchestown 105
Dancing Tornado 1pt e/w 1pt win @ 20-1
Always thought a lot of him and he has put in some encouragin runs last season despite a terrible ride at cheltenham. Sizing Europe is the one to beat but SE isnt at his best on Heavy and think Dancing Tornado could potentially capitalise on that if the pace is decent. Hopefully they wont let Beau Michael do the pace setting.
Punchestown 240
Solwhit 4pts win at 11/4
IMO he has everything on his terms here and that makes him the one to beat. Its a 4 horse race and he has evrything up his street against a 1-2 shot who IMO doesnt and needs to improve 10lbs to beat him anyway. Too good a bet to miss IMO.
Cheltenham 330
Ballyoliver 1pt e/w @50-1
Horse has things right up his street and is priced up on performances where he was running over a trip too short. Good price on one who should go really well
Cheltenham 255
Wolf Moon 1pt e/w @ 25-1
Think thuis one has ground trip and weight up his street and should go well, as is lightly enough raced and looks to be on an upward curve. Good price IMO.
November 15, 2009 at 15:13 #258773Congratulations Bulwark – you’ve had a great weekend!
November 15, 2009 at 15:47 #258783Cheers Zebra, had a decent bet on Tranquil Sea yesterday too, so pretty good all in all. Didnt think I’d be up so many points so quickly…

-19pts laid out
8pts coming into today
Dancing Tornado N/R returns 3pts
Solwhit 4pts win @ 11/4 returns 15pts
Wolf Moon 1pt e/w @ 25/1 returns 33.25pts
Running total =
+59.25 pts
November 15, 2009 at 21:13 #258854Nice work Bulwark!
November 16, 2009 at 12:51 #258927Leicester 110
Dark Oasis 4pts @ 13/2 (Sportingbet)
Woeful looking 6 runner race, cant really see anything else seeing out the trip well enough to beat him and looks a good price IMO.
November 16, 2009 at 13:32 #258933Leicester 140
Dobravany 1.25pt win @ 8-1
If the pace is steady in this race he has a decent chance on the ground at 8-1.
November 18, 2009 at 12:10 #259260Runing total +54pts
Market Rasen 1240
Ballybriggan 4pts win @ 11/4 Stan James
Looks perfect for a race like this, ground in his favour and could be the best of these anyway. Looks a good price.
