Wilts, you clearly don’t understand how the British Constitution works, albeit an unwritten constitution. Nor do you know the meaning of ‘socialist’. A Socialist is someone who cares for other people and believes that working together will get the best result. It seems that all ‘happiness’ surveys conclude that what you would regard as a ‘socialist’ country (Norway, Denmark, Sweden etc) comes out on top. China is the best example of a socialist minded country where capitalism also thrives. This combination produces a very successful outcome. Pensioners in these countries are well looked after
Compare this with an ‘every man for himself’ country such as the USA where a large percentage of the population cannot afford food and healthcare, whilst a few billionaires swan around not helping anybody other than themselves. Pensioners in the USA are suffering.
I know which I prefer.
