Not talking about specific horses here (I know, that’s probably already too complicated for you to follow), but Horse A could win three Champion Hurdles and run to ratings of, say, 170, 168 and 166 in those three races.
Horse B, with a rating of 175, is better than Horse A with those three Champion Hurdle wins. That isn’t opinion: it’s simple maths.
175 > 170, 168 or 166.
