Merthyr at home tomorrow for Southport, which I am hoping to attend. On the face of it a difficult game against the team in third place but I think Southport have a chance. We have done well in our last three games and we should consider this an opportunity. As long as we don’t concede early, I think we can win.
I notice that Hereford have had to postpone tomorrow’s game against Spennymoor. That means after tomorrow’s fixtures, they will have plenty of games in hand against their relegation rivals (six against Southport).
This is unacceptable. There is clearly an issue with the pitch at Edgar Street. It looked awful when Southport won there towards the end of last year.
No club should have so many games in hand. It also is not doing Hereford in favours with such fixture congestion.
In other news, my local non league team South Liverpool have their longest away journey in the league tomorrow with the game against FC Isle Of Man. I know a few people are making the journey to the island tonight. I should be back from Southport in time to listen to the second half commentary on Manx Radio. South could do with the win.
