It was reported that Cobden’s contract starts in May, so presumably De Boinville will keep the ride in the Stayers.
The New Lion is the more interesting case. As I said earlier, Harry Skelton looked distinctly miffed at the prospect of losing the ride when asked about it yesterday and said the arrangements were something that need to be sorted out.
There is clearly a close bond between the Skelton brothers, so I can’t believe Dan Skelton is very happy either.
I wasn’t listening closely but I think something was said on RTV last night that McManus gave an assurance that Harry Skelton would keep the ride when he bought the horse. Which would explain Skelton’s demeanour yesterday.
