All You Need To Know For The Aintree 2021 Grand National

For the first time since the second world war, the Grand National got suspended last year due to most jurisdictions’ global lockdown in March. However, with things starting to get back to normal, fans have the chance to follow the event this year, with odds on the event’s favorites already revealed at the Grand National website.  However, fans might not get the chance to watch the races in stadiums. Here’s a close look at the 2021 Grand National event.

When’s the 2021 Aintree Grand National?

Despite the hardships that were there last year, the 2021 Grand National event is expected to take its usual slot in April, starting the festivities from Thursday 8th April to Saturday 10th April. As usual, the main race is scheduled to take place on Saturday, with Friday being the Ladies’ day after the traditional Liverpool’s Day scheduled for Thursday. However, the event’s first day (Thursday) will be renamed Liverpool’s NHS Day in honor of the North West health service workers who were on the frontline to keep civilians safe during the lockdown last year.

Getting the 2021 Grand National Tickets

Currently, tickets for the Aintree 2021 Grand National event aren’t officially available for fans to buy. However, the Jockey Club revealed that fans who still have the tickets they bought for the 2020 festival have the chance to transfer them for a spot for the 2021 event and enjoy the festivities. Another 10,000 tickets will go to NHS volunteers and staff in honor of the Liverpool NHS Day scheduled for the first day. Other fans looking to attend the festival can also sign up at the Jockey Club to receive notifications when the tickets are available to the public.

Potential Grand National Runners in 2021

After the 2020 Grand National event’s cancellation, you can expect the event to be huge in 2021. Some of the bookie’s favorite runners include the 2018 and 2019 Grand National winner Tiger Roll, the 2019 Irish Grand National winner Burrows Saints, the 2019 Kim Muir winner Any Second Now, and the 2020 Ultima Chase winner The Conditional. Other runners include Kimberlite Candy, Presenting Percy, Santini, and Lake View Lad.

Tiger Roll is currently the bookies’ favorite at 16/1 odds, as he tries to record his third consecutive win to join the ranks of racers like the mighty Red Rum. However, Burrows Saint and Any Second Now are expected to be strong contestants in the race, both standing at 20/1 odds on the bookmaker’s list. Nonetheless, the final entrants’ list will be revealed on 30th January, with weights unveiled on 12th February.
