Cheltenham Gold Cup day 1983. Did a £5 win trixie on Saxon Farm in the Triumph Hurdle @ 12/1, Bregawn in the Gold Cup @ 10/3 and Robin Wonder in the County Hurdle @ 10/1. The first 2 were on BBC so watched them both romp home. Went down to the bookies with my Dad to hear the audio of the County Hurdle – no SIS video coverage in those days. Robin Wonder was never mentioned until they’d jumped the last. Stood there in total shock as the £4k plus return was a lot of money in those days. Have never managed to see a recording of the Robin Wonder win.

The ground was quick enough in the Chester Cup. Can see Magic Circle reversing places with Who Dares Wins. De Sousa on board a big plus.

Limato should be happier on the forecast fast ground but think Hootenanny will prove to be a different class to the opposition and expect him to hose up.

Agree about Main Sequence. I backed him to win at the Breeders Cup and the trainer has targeted this race for some time. Backed him at 8s a few weeks ago.
