Kim Bailey could have taken a bit of a downturn in form which would account for the dismal display of The Last Samuri yesterday. If campaigned astutely Phil Smith might just lower him to mark in the mid 150’s where he could be eachway value for next year. He is 50/1 and I think that is quite good value. Particularly as the performance of Saint Are yesterday showed that horses can bounce back from disappointing national runs.

T For Tango was 18/1 last night and is now 9/2. Trainer isn’t exactly one of the powerhouses in Ireland but the dam is out a mare who won by 7 lengths on debut (as a 3 year-old). That mare also produced Rahiyah who was 2nd in the 2006 Rockfel. He could give Sioux Nation & Sebastiano Ricci something to worry about.

Interesting if they do decide to go chasing as he is a full brother to Megastar who was 0-6 over fences and none of the rest of his siblings haven’t even tried it.

Does anybody know whether Ballyandy is going to be sent chasing next season or kept over hurdles?

I think Chapman is absolutely perfect for On The Line. He is a good interviewer with the trainers and his conflict with Maximilian from Musselburgh provides, at the very least, a limited degree of entertainment. The show doesn’t take itself too seriously and is all the better for it.
