Come on barney, enlighten us please.
Some of us try to read all the posts in the belief that they are posted to stimulate debate and invite constructive comments. When we are confronted with a long list of horses and no rules or guidelines, we feel that it’s a bit of a waste of time. I’m sure you have something to add to this part of the forum, so don’t be shy.
Hi Artemis,
It’s so so difficult to change how people think, even more difficult to change how they act.
Sorry Dave
No rules, you’ll just have to work them out.
I have added a couple of filters to the previous system, which wasn’t too bad really and still generated profit, even with the bare bones.

what I meant was that maybe Paul Nicholls isn’t just keeping the horses apart for the obvious reasons but also because they suit different types of track, and the ground is more likely to be on the soft side in Ireland….and it gives us 3 months of anticipation…
Denman is not as good as Kauto Star. FACT>
Since the start of the season NIcholls has been saying "cant wait to see Denman and Kauto Star race".
Denman is a gambling horse, as if he was any good there would be no need for all the subterfuge and misdirection associated with his run in the Henessy. Firstly his target was earlier in the season and he was pulled out ( we have to assume that he was being trained before this) then there was the small matter of a racecourse gallop. He was fit as a flea, make no mistake. Now if Denman was as good as Kauto Star, there would surely have been no need for all the shite that was evident before Saturdays race would there? Findlay could have just lumped on and to hell with the price.
Considering the nature of the debacle on Saturday, we must surely be asking ourselves which Bookmakers "the team" are in bed with. And would the shite that was spouted enough to put most people off, balance the book and turn a potential skinner into a winning book?
Can you Imagine the crap we "as Punters" are going to have to endure between now and March?
Repayment of "the debt" will more than likely begin over in Ireland in the Lexus chase. The excuses are already there fashioned and ready to brandish. IT WAS A POOR HENNESY, HE DIDNT HANDLE THE HEAVY.
The Listener beat a previous gold cup winner, A 10 times GROUP 1 WINNER and a horse who he beat by 15 1/2 lgth next time out run Kauto Star to 1/2 a length. HOWS THAT FOR A GAMBLE?, not some poxy handicap.
The Hennessey used to be one of the most exciting races of the NH season but standards have slipped of late. Would Denman have won in such a facile style with a lowly-weighted One Man or Teeton Mill in the field?
Denman would have stood no chance if one or the the other of those handicap good things had been in the race or if something of a similar ilk was in contention.
I know a couple of people who will have the form measured as it actually is rather than allocating a number to a visually impressive display.
Whats the point of getting involved in futile arguments about how good it looked?
I am really surprised at the overreaction shown since yesterday afternoon.
Harchibalds performance was far superior.

FOF,
I have owned several horses and always made a conscious effort to ride each one. I am fully aware of the differences in temperament and the different handling that individuals need when facing the racecourse. I wouldn’t want next years Derby winner touched with a whip on a wet and windy October day at Nottingham if I owned or trained the prospect.
I don’t want to press the point too much, but here we have two experienced trainers with horses who are seven years old. Not racecourse debutant hurdlers or immature 2yr olds.
One ran seven times between November and April the other ran seven times between October and March. One finished either first or second on each occasion the other won at each occasion. Both horses have proved themselves to be "extremely consistent" (depending on the measure used) and able to hold their form at peak for an extended duration(the sign of a top class horse), at least six or seven months, from the start to the end of the season with all big races between taken in.
WHY, when considering the current court case and climate of horses not trying or in extreme cases being prevented from winning, is it Ok to state that the horse WILL COME ON FOR THE RUN.
Just seems a stupid own goal to me, and people concerned should be told as much.
arazi,
1994 must have been a golden yearbookies not that bad, as often, now
If yer need some money for a public service, like the health, service we’ll argue for years and then there is none.

If you need some money for a private enterprise going tits up like a building society, Will 25 billion do for the time being? There you are.
No consultation, no discussion, no kiss my arse, no nothing!
Grasshopper,
I am perfectly capable of getting myself in bother without any encouragement from you.
The only doubt int trainers mind is the trip – may as well find out now as March. Got to win by four or five to have any real chance next year-if it stays.
1. Denman
2. New Alco

4. AlderburnListen,
I have a lot of time for both trainers, in fact most of them, in what must sometimes seem an impossible task (presenting a horse at the course ready to run on his merits).
Very few on here would, I suspect, know what goes on behind closed doors or in private conversations between the powers that be and individuals that raise concern.
For all we know, that may be the reason that racehorses are given a public gallop, because they may have had a bollocking, or alternatively to alleviate any apprehension that interested individuals may have of potential doubts of schooling in public before an up and coming big and important race.
Nobody would tell you anyway would they?
yer all watching a different game than me,
Monets was’t off an inch either.
Jesus, if they both didn’t panic and shuffle into action when the horse that should have won (Ashley Brook) fell.
To pretend that the complexity of the race did not significantly alter at that point defies belief
Owners are entitled to have a day out wherever they like.
I am sure that cards like the relatively new ones at Ascot and the more established one at Haydock will always hold sway and prove more popular.
The powers that be will seriously have to consider moving this fixture midweek of finding an alternative Saturday with less appealing tracks involved.
I note that Aintree have no problem hosting a reasonably valuable card, with well known and established chases, on a Sunday,
