I normally only get this nervous when Kalinka’s due to give birth, & she’s still got nearly 2 weeks to go !!

I will propbably watch from behind the sofa this year last year i watched on the big screen in reception at work it was amazing how many of my colleagues also had to be in reception at that time not to mention a probable health & safety issue there was only 1 denman fan amongst them & he’s since been converted !!

I will probably scream like a banshee & cry like a baby no matter what the result.

God I don’t ask for much so Please Please Please can Kauto win tommorrow.

Katie is very inexperienced & i’m sure she will learn from her mistakes & with the help of her brother & father I’m sure she will mature into a very useful jockey.
I for one hate to see a horse bashed but as stated in a previous comment they can take the p**s at times so i for one wouldn’t want a total whip ban.

Roseblossom please forgive my ignorance of gilbert & sullivan as it happens i really enjoy Pirates of Penzance but never delved that deeply into G&S.

May be we should get together to get some strong suggestions of names for this years yearlings especially the Halling ex Trompette colt he was very sweet when i met him at star cottage last summer & deserves a strong name especially after the way he looked after Spanish Lace’s filly after poor old Spanish died. she was another one i had a soft spot for as Maurice allowed me the priviledge of feeding her & Kabayil polo’s in the paddock when she was a youngster !!!

Favourite "Sovie" moment have 2 can’t split them 28th september 2002 Meon valley stud fillies mile Ascot the ERC’s first group one winner 28th september 2002 would’ve been my gran’s 91st birthday so it was a special day as i’m sure gran was shouting down from heaven nearly as hard as i was "riding" the finish on the sofa at home and then the day she won at Royal ascot at the third time of asking !
Sorry can’t help it but I love her !!!

Can’t wait for her baby to be named he’s getting a bit big to be known as "sovies boy"

Sovie has a very nice yearling colt by Oasis dream already yes she has had her problems but every care has been taken to give her the best probable chance of conceiving & carry to term I’m sure the long term results will proove that she was a fantastic mare sadly having the misfortune of being born the same year as another very good performer in Russian rythm lets not forget she comprehensively lowered Attraction’s colours Yes I am Biased I’ve "known" Sovie since she was 6 months old.

have to agree with Ten Plus the Gold Cup is not a race for Novices someone needs to look at rules to stop young future stars being pushed too far too young & all too often paying the ultimate price !!!

I remember Gloria & remember being very upset that a novice had been run in the gold cup & felt at the time this contributed to his death I remember watching him being led into the horse ambulance with my fingers crossed that at the very least he would live in retirement but sadly this was not to be!! Did we loose a potential Golden miller that day who knows what might have been.

I’m sure he’s in horse heaven with all the other greats Dessie Best mate One Man.

    RIP Gloria Victis

Snoopy should be given a long & honourable retirment why can’t his owner see that the horse owes him nothing & if he does not like standing in a field there are other "jobs" he could do to keep him happy

i saw this race on atr & was horrified to see MR carberry walk away from the horse it was a shocking fall & it was obvious the horse was in trouble but i beleive that he did return to the horse and caught it as it got back up but he should not of left the animal at all as the rest of the field had passed before he moved out the way so his personal safety was not at issue the least any jockey can do is stay with the animal after a fall even when it’s obvious there’s nothing to be done
