Nice to see a Frankel group 2 winner at 6F.
Mozu Ascot won the G1 February stakes and becomes the first progeny of Frankel to win a G1 on dirt.

“Mozu Ascot” won the G3 1400m Negishi Stakes. It was his first run on dirt.
He broke slow, lost a couple of lengths, was 3 wide for the trip and was still pulling away in the end.
His next run will be the G1 February Stakes on 23rd Feb. If he manages to win it, he’ll have won a Japanese group 1 both on turf and dirt.

MarginalValue, thanks for the welcome. The source is “Arion Pedigrees” and it’s free.
Ginge, you are absolutely correct regarding the point that Frankel enjoyed a much better booking of quality mares than Galileo in the beginning and hence a direct comparision at this stage is pointless. That being said, i hope Frankel runs his old man close when all is said and done with regards to his stud career.
Galileo had 126, 80 and 126 foals i.e 332 foals in the first 3 years of his stud career and produced 22 Group winners in the NH.
Frankel had 117, 107 and 87 foals i.e 311 foals in the same period and produced 30 Group winners in the NH.
Galileo’s stud career reached new heights from around his 7th crop when he started producing about 17-20 Group winners per crop. It should be interesting to see if Frankel can keep up with his Dad. Thankfully, the breeders who deserted him for his 3rd and 4th crops seem to have changed their minds after seeing his progeny on track. I would love to see him produce classic winners consistently.
