Seems like he’s very profitable 😉[/quote]
Those stats are for 2011-13. Looks like the site packed up and he’s now making money out of other punters.
It’s obvious that he’s gambling off other people’s money. If the bet wins, then the proxy gives him 85% of the profit but if the bet loses, you’d never hear from him again – lol.
Does it qualify as a scam?Apparently, he’s Paul Beaumont of Beaumont Tips and he can’t get his bets on cos he wins too much, so he uses proxies. I’d love to know how he got my name & address.
Not a jockey I ever backed with confidence unless in a group race for Hannon Snr or Jnr. I always thought he tended to deliberately get his horse boxed in at times without any idea how to get out when it was needed. A multiple champion, yes but a great jockey, no, not imo.
Very much part of my growing-up years and has been sadly missed from the commentary box for the past 20 years or so. Always came across as a true gent when interviewed. RIP Sir Peter.
Thank you, Phil, I will check it out.
Thanks for the reply. I’m only interested in horses that are no longer in training but no matter.
Thanks for that explanation, apracing, and I do understand in these instances about horses being withdrawn and accept that trainers must do their best to look after the horse & their owner’s best interests but it still us, the punters, who are left guessing as to whether or not we should select a particular horse, back it to win or e/w or leave the race alone when they’re 8/9 + 16/17 runners declared the night before.
I spend a good couple of hours plus the night before selecting my bets fro the next day and place my bets before going to bed and look forward to watching the races I have an interest in the afternoon only to find that I have 2 or 3 N/Rs or other horses taken out with reformed markets, rule 4s etc, etc. I don’t remember racing have such a huge spate of N/Rs before the self-certification rules came in.I agree about good/firm becoming soft on the morning of the race but that doesn’t happen too often, imo. Persoanlly, I think there are too many races on a Saturday and trainers are using the self-certification to excess. Last weekend we ended up 2 + 4 runner races while all the time owners/trainers complain about the lack of prize money. It’s no coincidence that meeting like Royal Ascot & Glorious Goodwood & the Derby meetings have very few N/R. Or am I just being too cynical?
Quite sad in places with the unemployed lad down to £4.80 to last 2 weeks and the flipside of the successful gambler being limited and then told his custom wasn’t wanted. Also, another telling feature was more shops opening to exploit the 4 gaming machines per shop.
An excellent insight to the world of gambling told from many perspectives. He’s currently listed as a runner for Thursday’s John Smith’s Fox Hunters’ Chase. I look forward to watching him, if he runs – let’s hope so.
I tend to back horses that bypassed Cheltenham as I think Aintree comes too soon after hard races.
I dont know whether this is a good idea. I have tried this tactic for the last 5 years to no profit whatsoever.
I think when you are looking at Aintree you are better to look for previous course form and ignore the Cheltenham form from the month previous.
I agree that my statement looks s bit silly based on last year’s results but I’m going by the last 20+ years of form over the 2 festivals. Also, there were less than 3 weeks between them some years & that makes a difference, imo, after some hard races in the mud at Cheltenham. I think the form holds up well when there’s been at least 3 week break and decent ground.
Many thanks for the update, Ten Plus, and it’s good to know that Cloudy is having a well earned rest. Mind you, he’s 11 now so not sure where McCain will take him. Cheers.
I strongly agree with a race named after Michael Dickinson. I believe he also rode a couple of festival winners too. I always remember his chaser called W Six Times who was named thus because he told the owner that the horse "Worked Well, Will Win, When Wanted"
I’ve added a clip of the fantastic Sabin Du Loir winning the 1983 Sun Alliance Novice Hurdle from Dawn Run & West Tip – enjoy.
Thanks, Ten Plus, it’ll be much appreciated.
He certainly has where I’m concerned.
Surely a coincidence that two members who joined on the same day (2 days ago) are having a little chat about checking results on a site, of which one of the members is the owner?
Sorry, Kickback, but I’m well confused by the above. Please explain.
