I’m assuming it is cos there’s been nothing on RP’s front pages the last 2 days to signal a winner – lol.

Great to see the old fella jumping to well and his owner, Jerry Wright, said "This is very much a hobby for him now but it’s always been on my mind that he could go to Aintree forthe Foxhunters if he performed well today so we’ll have to wait and see."

    Fingers crossed

Poquelin is a favourite of mine but has a por record at Aintree having UR twice. The Irish trio of Tranquil Sea, Realt Dubh & Jessica’s Dream, if all fit, could turn this race into a fantastic finale to this NH season.

I dream on at the possibility.

I think 2-1/2 miles would also suit Somersby and he’d be another one to throw into the mix.

    Hi,

I’ve been reading this forum for a while so i thought I may as well join in. I’m strictly a jumps fan and have been for about 40 long years now and still prefer to watch a 2 mile novice selling hurdle around Plumpton (no disrespect meant) than a 5 furlong sprint at Royal Ascot .

Looking forward to some interesting & lively NH debates.

    Cheers

I am always somewhat amused when people add RIP in reference to animals. Do they have any other option except to RIP(the bones) or is the concept illusionary when referring to animals? Do the souls of horses live after them or are they interred with their bones?

I added it out of respect cos we’re all animals, imo, if we’re capable of voluntary action but, anyway, I’m so glad I gave you such amusement.

I tend to back horses that bypassed Cheltenham as I think Aintree comes too soon after hard races. Good luck on your first visit with whatever you back and, win or lose, I’m certain you’ll have a cracking day out.

TF, it is 36 days since the 13th of February but I take your point about the individual tipsters. PWE seems to be a Racing Post flagship but it would appear that it’s not very good on a daily basis. I’ll ask my cousin to keep me informed on the Tom Segal selections as, from your information, he does the weekend tips and would appear to be the best of a poor bunch.

    Many thanks

Thank you, CR, interesting stuff especially about the PWE leak. I shall read further later.

A sad loss indeed. A young and talented horse who I remember watching out battle Menorah at Ascot last year. It’s always sad to lose any of these magnificent animals who are so tough and genuine. RIP
