tried putting the formath’s plan into a spreadsheet but alas it was too much for me, might have to do this one on a manual basis
Hi Dave, unfortunately I have a day job so I probably have 1-2 bets per weekday and usually 4-5 at the weekend and even then I try to keep my bets to better classification of races/big money races.
Plenty of people have talked about using a staking plan and I thought I might give it a try as well a keeping a decent record of my selections
cheers formath, this looks rather interesting, I might see if I can put this into some form of spreadsheet.
I’ve read a little on this type of staking plan, not sure if it will wipe out my bank to early as Im not wholly convinced by assessing the the probability of winnning. food for thought though
get on Denman for the gold cup, jumps better then kauto will be interesting to see how he will be under pressure. Top performance
from what ive found the guy was from the 30’s and his thoughts are someting like this
The horse shall win at least one in three races;
The horse shall be placed second, third and where appropriate fourth in at least half of the starts;
The horse shall be entered to run against no similar money consistency horses.
(This key requirement is subject to much interpretation and determines whether you bet.
Additional requirements by Dowst
Only play when the track conditions are fast or good.
Do not play in races where fillies oppose colts;
Do not wager on 2 year old races or flat horses of 6 years plus.
Do not wager on horses raised in class.
Do not wager on horses carrying too much weight.Not sure if anyone has applied the above and crunched any numbers
thanks for that not a great lot on dowst tho.
Informative all the same
Carlisle,
Have you resolved your issues?
After a lean couple of weeks are you looking at any races this weekend?
Just thought it would interesting to see how each selection did
There seems to be a lot of people for VDW methods and a few against. Not sure if this has been muted in previous posts but why not have a couple of members go head to head on a select few races this week/weekend?
Any rationalle for there selections could be given, I just think it would be interesting to see who has the the greater strike rate. Obviously to get a better grasp on the trends you would need to do this for a longer period.
Any volunteers?Im gonna go with Millestan, tricky little race but I think this is a decent bet
certainly gives some food for thought over the next few days.
No worries I had a prety dire weekend really culminating in Authorised getting beat.
Given that there are only a few decent flat races left this year do you use the same method for NH racing?
I’d be interested in your thoughts surrounding horses that PU, UR, BD etc and how you rate them in the form
Any thoughts on this weekends card? Im off out on the lash on friday so selection process will be blurred
Nowt wrong with those selections
Like i said I hate ascot but i had a few winners from Market Rasen / Haydock so all in all up on the day but not much to shout about.
unfortunate with Commando Scott again I think the distance was a little on the short side for him this week.
Role on next week!
Who did you have the exacta with?
I can see a going change happening at some stage of todays racing.
Best of Luck
