I think part of the problem here is that your pendulum is under the errant influence of geosynaptic pertubations caused by lay line deviations around the Devil’s Dyke.

Apply a suitable tuning fork to the cranium, watch ‘Night of the Demon’ 13 times through a mirror and watch the money roll in!

Dowsing is old hat. Try tuning forks to realise more energy and see the light within!

Can anyone remember incidents of ‘Oh no, it’s not going to run – oh yes it is!’, in relation to major races, occuring with such frequency before the advent of betting exchanges?

Doesn’t seem to have done Kauto Star any harm!

Are you telling me that, on top of everything else, he can read and write?

A horse is a horse of course of course….

Par for the course, given the Royal Family’s academic standards. Must be all that inbreeding.

It actually did come cheap as Turftrax did the same thing for free to UK racing well before Trakus copied it.
Did BHA etc support the Turftrax initiative ? – no, they went bust.
Glad RFC are aware – where have they been for the last decade?
Are they also aware that Turftrax/Trackus system can also provide recorded hard evidence for non-triers that would stand up in Court?
BHA are long aware but totally ignored this.

Given that we’re talking about an organization who struggle to ensure the accuracy of race distances, we shouldn’t hold our breath whilst waiting for the BHA to embrace this technology.

[You’ve got to be having a laugh surely Andrew? What would they put on them? Bowls? Snooker? World Paralympics Championships?]

That sounds great, it could be bolstered by endless repeats of the Six Nations, Formula 1, The Grand National and, er… darts!

Perhaps coverage of ‘great’ historical sporting moments could also be included – like those rallycross races that used to be on Grandstand.

Regarding The Derby I think in terms of the consciousness of the general, i.e. non-racing, public, it is not as big or as significant as it used to be.

It’s not even as significant to the racing ‘industry’. Sure, Aidan O’Brien, master trainer, can be relied on for multiple entries in the hope that one will turn out to be a Group 1 winner. However, the race has long-since lost it’s appeal and is a relatively minor event, along with the Diamond Stakes, on the international racing scene. This particular trend will not reverse, given the appetite in this country to stage and fund cards of class 5 & 6 races, interrupted by the occasional ‘class 2’ race that, given the ability of the participants, is nothing of the sort.

Oh yes, that’s what he’d have you believe but I have assumed the ‘Nog’ title and what’s more, the Ice Dragon is dead and Graculus is in my thrall!

Something of a latecomer to the saddle, this burgeoning career delayed by his stage performance in Jeffrey Bernard is Unwell.

I’ve also heard a whisper that Tom Conti has been riding out for P. Hobbs.

[mind you, the wrestling was on after the racing and I never became addicted to that…]

That’s your memory playing tricks again. Mick McManus, Jackie Pallo and, latterly, Adrian Street and Kendo Nagasaki. The old Boston Crab – those were the days!

Has said champion been to a charm school?

Smiles all round when receiving his trophy and a magnanimous gesture with the prize money.

Good to see and keep it up!
