Memories of Saffron Waldon are revived here, all the evidence points to the Queen having spelt Morcambe wrong. By Bollin Eric, both the comedian and the town have an E after the R (?) and I can find no evidence of Morcambe without the E having any meaning.
So is it just a case of Her Majesty spelling it wrong (if that is the case why didn’t someone tell her?) or with her well known sharp and incisive wit has she done me up at least like a kipper?

My Own Race Course And My Balmoral EstateFebruary 28, 2010 at 09:22 #279603Just a thought – do you reckon Her Majesty drops in on any forums from time to time? Perhaps she goes under the name of Grasshopper….
KFebruary 28, 2010 at 09:28 #279605Morecambe won the Cesarewitch and the Ebor in the 1950s, but I wouldn’t think his name would be on the protected list, so probaly a typo.
Perhaps Her Majesty should have used her laptop with its bigger keys to enter her horse’s name, rather than fiddling around with the Blackberry.

Doesn’t seem to have done Kauto Star any harm!
