The festival’s do seem to be in a state of decay, Somerset’s Bath festival this season was reduced to just a one day match and that even got rained off. I have never been to the one at Scarborough but have been told it’s good. Yorkshire going well in the FPT so you might have a trip to Lords to look forward to aswell Drone.

With the cheap version of twenty20 due to start soon, i wondered what people’s thoughts are of this type of cricket?
i think it is great for the clubs finace, with full grounds up and down the country but i would’nt want it taking over or spoiling our four day game with proposals of three day cricket to make more room for twenty20 games, i think the balance at the moment is just fine.
As for this years comp i think it’s wide open so will back Somerset because im bias but they have got the players for the big hitting smash and run, plus one other team to hopefully give me a run for my money,but not quite sure who, any ideas
p.s. maybe Banks was signed for this..

I would have said Symonds was a far better player in the one day mode of the game, good fielder aswell. i can forgive him his hairstyle and the fact he turned his back on his country to play for the side down under but to play for Gloucestershire well…

Thats Old Trafford for you, great action today with the match going New Zealand’s way to start with then England hitting back with Monty’s spin. Tomorrow should if the rain stays away be really interesting, i think Vettori is the key for New Zealand if he bowls well England could be in trouble.
Have not seen much of the action in Jamaica, saw day one with Pointing looking in great touch. West Indies making a great fight of things by the looks of it. It’s just not the same seeing the Aussie line-up without the name of Gilchrist a bit like New Zealand’s without Fleming.

I was glued to teletext yesterday, a bit to close for comfort when Kent’s last wicket partnership was steaming along. Delighted for Jones, a fans favourite always puts his heart and soul into every game. still only early days but the division is wide open but i’d just be happy to stay up this year, not dreaming of the title just yet, but who knows.
