Well was finishing like a train a wouldve maybe won then…..
The fact i backed him in the Arkle has no effect on my opinion though lol
Remember with fair Along in the Arkle though, he was effectively brought down i think it was 3 out, and wouldve very likely won the Arkle.
He didnt front run in that race and was hardly lacklustre
I know it’s late at night and I’m tired but I had a horrible thought of Champion Chase day becoming Orange Wednesday…..

I don’t know how you remember which races these all were, all I remember are the horses, not necessarily the jockeys either. There was one about three years ago where Marlborough was brought from last to first by a jockey that never, ever gave up thinking he could win. I’m sure someone will fill in the gaps in my memory.
EDIT: What a co-incidence! I leave this thread and check out the favourite horses thread and who are they talking about? Marlborough!

Was that the Racing Post race you were thinking of? I believe he beat Horus into 2nd?

you’d have to think he will not run in Japan,
After 2 tough races in the Arc and Breeders Cup in October, I dont think he would show is best in Japan should he make the journey and race.

Fav NH other than obvious ones: Andrew Glassonburyremember Marlboroughs early days when his jumping was so awful; Mick Fitz really sorted him out….lovely horse, probably didn’t get the credit that he deserved at the time…
Watched him at Newbury at least 5 times and his jumping was still terrible, and that was in his good days too!!
Regardless, he was never given full credit for his career
