Horrible, horrible fall. RIP Ambrose Princess, you didnt deserve that.
Anyone know how Gold Ability is? Broke down in the 1220 at Newcastle. Didnt look good. Not a good day for racing today.

Thank you. I rely on people like yourself finding out how the injured horses are. Perhaps we should have a seperate thread for those horses that have fallen or are pulled up and are OK but not reported on. This would make for much happier reading.
Thank you and well said Rubylight. That’s what I find really upsetting (apart from the loss of a beautiful animal), that the fallen horses sometimes get ignored, not even mentioned, as though they are worthless now. Some trainers pay respect to their fallen horses on their websites and obviously grieve for the animals. Some dont seem to give a hoot, or that’s how it appears.
I know these animals aren’t pets as such but they are working their hearts off for their owners/trainers and deserve more respect than some are afforded. Will anybody look into all the breakdowns and fatalities and research whats happening or will it just be accepted as ‘well that’s racing’
RIP George an RiHorrible fall. How can the commentator say up ok when the horses front foreleg was very obviously swinging about. Half a screen to cover the horses body. At least his death was quick if not dignified. RIP Amron Lad
Interesting to read everyone’s comments, thank you. Sounds as if breeding needs more regulation. One thing though, we generally do seem to look after our horses much better than some other countries. I will be praying for no more breakdowns, fatal falls or heart attacks.
Why does a 6 year old horse collapse and die?? So many incidents of this recently, its almost becoming an occupational hazard. Very sad for all concerned. RIP beautiful boy.
Comforting to know that this family really do love and respect their horses. Thoughts go to all concerned, owners, trainer and jockey.
Very sad news. Thoughts to all connections, especially as this is the second loss in 48 hours for the yard (Cheatingsideoftown). What’s happened this year??? So many fatalities Is it the ground or could it be a breeding issue? Does anyone have any ideas or share my concerns.
RIP beautiful boyI too am now struggling to watch the racing, especially the jumps and hurdles, although the flat has seemed especially bad this year. RIP Cheatingsideoftown, so very very sad. Another beautiful horse gone.
I was also asking why the jockey appeared to keep pushing the horse when he was so far behind. Very sad news. RIP Kepler’s Law
Anyone know how Velvet Bullet is? He had a terrible fall at the last fence in the 3.50 at Fairyhouse yesterday and didnt appear to get back up. Fingers crossed for him.Another lovely horse gone. RIP
Saw this on TV. Horrible to see. Very sad. RIP
another lovely horse loses its life. RIP
very sad news. A much loved horse, thoughts go to all connections. RIP.
RIP
Just read the trainers comment … her referenceto the death and the taxman was bazzar to say the least, she would have come over better if she had shown only empathy for the horse and her connections instead of the matter of fact face of cold omfort.
My thoughts exactly.
