Have you got a TiVo box Crepello? I’ve found with mine that it won’t accept series links for ITV Racing on both channels at the same time, although they have the same title. Assume it is a Virgin Media glitch rather than ITV’s fault.

Completely agree Ivanjica, very poor from Racing Uk once again. No excuse for either the presenters or the producers not to realise what had happened.

So sad to hear this. At least his owners did everything possible for him.

Remarkable recovery from what looked like a nasty injury for The Society Man, who ran at Market Rasen today. Good news.

Thanks for posting this. This was about the time I started watching jump racing and as soon as I read the name it sparked some long forgotten memories, though my first thought was that he was a little dark brown horse. A sad end for him, had well earned a retirement before then.

Loved watching Ollie race, such a gutsy little horse. RIP old boy

Trainer of Sureness reports the horse to have run ‘disappointingly’ and due a break, so obviously no significant injury, which is great news. Can’t find anything on The Society Man as yet.

Poor lad, I thought he looked bad at the finish. The race was certainly uncomfortable viewing, hope the others will be okay.

Was this the horse that appeared to go lame on landing over the first, but was not pulled up until after the third?

    A real shame.

The photo is on Twitter, I wish I knew how to get a copy onto here for you Triptych. He’s a lovely little bay chap with a larger blaze than his dam and two quite long white socks behind. It looks as if he has been fostered by a grey cob mare!

What a lovely, if ultimately sad, posting from Paul Webber. RIP lad.

Not what you want to hear on the eve of the Festival.

Boyfriend has just announced he is taking me on a surprise day out to London tomorrow – ‘you said you weren’t doing anything this week’ he says. Trying hard to smile and appear grateful but I’ll be desperate to get back without finding out any results so I can replay ‘live’ all the action.

The Champion Chase is the race I’m most looking forward to, I would love to see SS back to his best but heart says SDG. As long as everyone is home safe, that will do for me.

Unfortunately, RUK’s coverage seems to worse now than when I first started watching nearly 10 years ago. Even with only one meeting to cover, they fail to give a list of runners and riders and rarely show the horses in the paddock. At best you see some going down to post with a talk’over, which is usually about a different horse to the one on the screen. The producers seem to think we are all sitting here with the Racing Post and so don’t need relevant info such as who trains it, and how long is this race exactly? They used to have the distance on the betting show down the left hand side but seem to have taken it away. And when the pundit says ‘beautifully bred’ they fail to tell us what the breeding actually is.

The endless self-promoting adverts, particularly the ‘in the race to bring you the best coverage we lead’ and the ones with Michael Owen are becoming very irritating, and do we really need reminding every 10 minutes that Cheltenham is coming?. I can understand this type of ad while they are free to air, but if you are already a subscriber they are preaching to the converted, surely?

I don’t mind post-race interviews being shown in Racing Replay, but not when they should be previewing another race. If a trainer has something interesting to say about a runner coming up on the card, then can’t the presenter just pass the info on during the preview.

Also feel they need a short Racing News programme just before racing, perhaps instead of the daily bookie chat?

Getting used, slowly, to the new site and mostly positive thoughts. Personally, I think the emoticons look like the kind of thing I see on my kids’ school homework site, but I’m sure I’ll get used to them in time! Otherwise, great.
