It’s 3.23am and I couldn’t sleep because of the wind and so heard the most awful news. Red put down. Racing being as unimportant as it is to the BBC this wasn’t repeated on the news and sports headlines, so I’m hoping this is some horrible nightmare and so won’t be true.
But I fear it is and I will be truly heartbroken.
UPDATE – no, sadly this wasn’t a nightmare, it is confirmed. ‘Racing’s saddest day’.
November 21, 2015 at 10:09 #1222564Nobody wanted to hear this news, Red Cadeaux fought so bravely but could not win this final battle.
Thoughts are with the owners and all connections for the loss of their precious horse, loved by all.
We will miss you so much Red..RIP
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...November 21, 2015 at 12:03 #1222594I know that connections were most likely planning for him to stay in Australia anyway but perhaps he was never meant to leave the place, win or lose. Sleep well, Red; we’re planning a trip to Australia one day, and will pay our respects to you. You were loved so much by so many.
