    Thanks guys!

I must admit that this year has been surprising as I wouldn’t normally have expected even one of these type of horses to have been seen so early. Normally I would expect 100+ pts between May and October so with 35 already garnered before the season should have started I am quite delighted.

I am currently away from home in Manaus so I’m not able to correspond properly but as more selections appear as the season progresses perhaps members will feel better equipped to comment on them.

    Mick,

I am looking at horses that I have come to recognise as being much better than their rating and who will be placed to win a C2 hcp.

I hope you don’t mind if I go no further than that for the timebeing, as I am trying to use this thread as much needed discipline for a naturally impulsive character.

    Hi Matron,

I’ll keep the rules to myself for the timebeing though I can say that it sticks to certain C2 turf hcps and is a convoluted offshoot of VDW.

Probably about 30 bets a season.

If there is no sgnificant draw advantage in the 325Donc then I have Tombi ans Jimmy Styles as being the best class horses placed to win.

    Hi Goodlife

I must admit I’m not as enthusiastic this morning as I was last night. Last night I was graced by Bacchus who has now deserted me. I dont really look at anything other than C2 affairs so I shouldn’t have been touting out of my normal pitch.

    Recent selections are lepers.

Whilst we can do them in english, scottish, geordie, spannish, french, german, and portugese their qualities come from the outmost extreme selection methods.

    Better Moment 420 Folk has been placed to win and I have backed the place at 11/2;

A mounted racing horse is a separate and unique life-form. The horse is the body, the trainer the brain, and the jockey the nervous system.

All horses have class, be it good, bad, or indifferent. Therefore the punter should see the necessity of discovering the true value of a horse’s ability. which in turn demands that the animals optimum conditions are also identified.

Class, its physical potential, is down to the animal

Form, its career, is down to the decision maker, the brain and the nervous system that transmits the message to the body.

Therefore form and class are not the same thing. They cannot live without each other but they are not interchangeable, not being of the same material whilst each has its own reason it needs the influence of its other part to have meaning.

The trainer, once he has his charge fit and fully grown, cannot change its class. Neither can the horse, (except in films made by Disney), influence on how its form reads indeed as a simple animal the concept is meaningless to him.

Form and class together tell you if the horse has been placed to win.

Consistency s a sub-group of form. A lot of winners are consistent, but there are too many inconsistent winners for consistency to be regarded as an essential prerequisite.

Class is an essential prerequisite for a horse to win as such it is useless to look for winners amongst consistent horses. It is no use looking for Butterfly nests just because they have wings.

A punter has to find the classiest animals first.
