Remember listening in the Ikea car park to a live radio commentary of Dancer winning a good chase at Cheltenham 18 months before his first silver medal behind Kauto in the 2007 Gold Cup. This commentary led my missus to have an interest in racing especially jumping and Exotic Dancer. We’ve seen him at Cheltenham twice and though not one of my favourites I enjoyed the joy the said missus got from seeing him in the paddock and on course.

Now she cant bear to watch replays of Kauto’s win this year with Dancer in the field after his demise at Aintree but she takes heart out of Jonjo’s description of how Dancer passed away. He’ll be sorely missed as we approach this new season but its good to see that this memorial is still on the first page which shows how many racing enthusiasts feel about him so long after his death.

RIP Exotic Thanks for the memories

I didnt see the Powers incident I was at Newcaslte Races.
Pulled up before the fourth last suggests this game performer was injured at the same downhill fences that Pressgang had to be destoyed in the previous Saturday meeting at Kempton Park.

Maybe they should look at those fences take off and landing sides. Both these poor horses recieved injuries not from falling but getting over the downhill obstacles

First time poster who loves racing but cant bear to see unecessary loss of life to these brilliant creatures.
