Imagine some of these top class miler and a half horses like Singspiel or Pilsudski running over hurdles.
It would be fantastic!!It does you good to dream sometimes!!
Theyd still need to jump though

raymo61, you are right, of course, Anyone, irrespective of nationality – and who knows anything at all about football – would realise that Kenny Dalglish is a shoo-in for the number one Scotland striker spot. The guy was different class – and I saw him play for Celtic many times long before Bob Paisley came sniffing.
Fat Ally couldn’t have laced his boots.

What you moaning about…hes on the bench!!

It all depends on which Ronnie shows up. He likes the
longer format, enjoy’s the Crucible & his talent is awesome & if he’s on his A game then, know one can touch him, but I don’t think he’ll win it & I’ll stick with the
two best battlers in the current game Selby & Higgins, with Murphy the other to watch.Mark

I dont go along with the Ronnie being far far far better than everyone else that gets peddled a lot….not now anyway.I always feel he is ridiculous prices in some of the big events.Ronnie to me nowadays has been struggling with something….and to me its NOT concentration…which has been his downfall in the past. The top top players are all of pretty similair standard nowadays imo. i.e Higgins and Ronnie you couldnt pick a winner even if Ronnie brought his A game.Robertson,Selby and even Ding Junhui are all capable players too…but have quirks….Robertson sometimes is too attack minded(a bit like allen),Selby lets himself too often on the biggest stage of all…and Ding is a tremendous all-round player…but doesnt handle pressure too well. If any one of those 3 won a world championship anytime soon noone would be surprised.I think the margins at the top now are so slight anyone could literally win it.

Yeats v Inglis Drever v Baracouda up the cheltenham hill in a world hurdle………..
Re: Scotland’s greatest team.
Interesting. Yes I too am selecting a team. Differs slightly from yours – but I’m keeping it under wraps for now.

My greatest scotland team would be(in my opinion the best team…and not who had most caps etc)
1.ANDY GORAM
2.DANNY McGRAIN
3.ERIC CALDOW
4.RICHARD GOUGH
5.BILLY McNEILL
6.JIM BAXTER
7.JIMMY JOHNSTONE
8.BILLY BREMNER
9.ALLY McCOIST
10.DENIS LAW
11.DAVIE COOPERrunning them close to get in my 11 so are on my bench are LEIGHTON,MURDOCH,DALGLISH,HENDERSON,JORDAN,GEMMILL.
I think my team on form could put it up to the best of them.(granted some of the players were a bit before my time.)
He was a poor mans Willie Henderson

It IS true what they say about Dalry’s Blair scheme’s residents !

I notice the cigar puffin’ wee Wullie did not make the "esteemed" selection panel’s short list for Scotland’s greatest team contenders.
I’ve read Henderson’s Biography. Of this he said about the comparisons made between him and Jimmy Johnstone.
"I considered myself a good player; international class – but wee Jimmy was world class".
We get his drift anyway.

Its not just the blair scheme its the WHOLE of the town

I blame it on the chemicals from Roche myself
The fish in the burn down there have 3 eyes
Where in Gods country do you hail from yourself?
Mark Allen may surprise a few at decent odds also.
He is an up & coming star of the green baize, but don’t quite think he’s ready to lift the world title.
I think in a couple of years, I could see the young Ulsterman winning trophies & winning the big one, but not this year.
The bookies also feel the same way & is reflected in his price at 20/1.
If you’ve put a bet on Mark Allen then, best of luck.
Mark

I reckon he has to come of age on the big stage sooner or later. The boys got the talent for it.
The tanking he gave Ronnie last year showed what he can do at the worlds and i reckon 20s is a great bet.
I feel Ronnies going to take the title this year though.
What price is Jimmy Johnstone?

He was a poor mans Willie Henderson

Mark Allen may surprise a few at decent odds also.
I wouldnt be as sure of myself on the flat as i am over jumps……but i reckon Penitents a shoe-in looking at it.
Il probable back Mias Boy ew.
Bad draw for Twice Over – feel you need to be in the middle here, Well Armed came from stall 7 to win last year, Red Desire in 3 and Vision D’etat stall 6 appeal to me now. Allybar my outsider at 16/1.
Im backing Twice Over to defy the draw.
Also Mastery as my outsider.Trip a bit short though.
Kauto and Denman could compete in it next year.
Seriously though, there is a danger that the Festival ends up with a race to cater for every minority faction. We already have the Cross Country, The Mares race, every novice event imaginable, the Conditional jockeys race, the amateurs race, the Hunter Chaser’s race, a flat race (bumper).
Id agree with the serious part of youre post

Id have the Festival back at 3 days…and get rid of joke races such as the crosscountry…also things like the fred winter, jewson chase, the 3 mile novice hurdle etc
Its ok everyone saying 4 days is better but the quality is diminished. The only 2 "new" races id keep are the ryanair and the mares hurdle.
I mean we could have had horses like Sanctuare really having to test himself.
Id have 3 seven race days.Veterans race would get my consideration if it HAD to be a 4 day festival.
Fallon should pull a drive-by on a horse.
Reminds me of an old joke;
What goes clip-clop clip-clop clip-clop BANG!!!?
A drive by shooting in Perth!

Oh well it was funny when i last heard it

Looks like it H…

Poor Cormack, he can come out now, it’s definitley my turn to go behind the sofa.
St. Mirren 4 Tony Mowbray’s clueless Celtic 0.
But… a ray of sunshine amidst the gloom.
My prediction came true at 7/2 ! Dundee Utd knocked the 2010 "treble" winners out the of the Scottish Cup.

We are just happy to be CHAMPIONS

I hear good old mogga outdone himself tonight

Im away to calculate when the league will be officially won

A Rangers badge as a moniker picture on a horse racing forum.

And youre point is caller?

ps What about the likes of Soba and cormack…do they wear crash helmets and wick academy strips in their everyday life?
You are evidently bringing youre pain about youre team being so far behind scotlands premier team…to a racing forum.
Lighten up

Cant you like football AND racing?
just a thought.A Rangers badge as a moniker picture on a horse racing forum. I bet he wears a Rangers tracksuit to weddings and funerals aswell.

No but i did get married at Ibrox if that counts

I think youl find im posting about the world record 52 time champions….in the general sports bit….not the racing
.I suppose you could call it that. Then again you’d have to call Craig Levein, Jim Gannon and Gus MacPherson ‘paranoid’ as well.
I most certainly would

2 moaning fackers and a self confessed cellic man there.
