Clive, I’m only a simple Taff – “sanctity of the nation state” – you win.
I’m glad your are happy living in London. The ‘big city’ life appeals to me as well but I’m afraid I have never convinced madam about its advantages.
Is it only Scottish nationalism you dislike, Clive?
I thought it was rather remiss of Oli Bell not to enquire of Mrs. Haggas, the state of her father’s health when he interviewed her. Of course, I might have missed something earlier.
Nice post, Seasider.
Sounds as if it was money well spent by you, Ken.
Great to hear good news about big group ownership, there have been some who have not had the same joy.
Congratulations.
I remember the first time I was called ‘mister’. I was 18 at the time, came as a bit of a shock.
Cheers, both.
I remember our chat at Ascot, I lost contact with the group when I went for a pint. Don’t leave the visit to Sophia Gardens too long, I’m well past my final sell-by date.
I think it was Fred Rimell’s wife, Mercy, who was quoted as saying something like “we find that the less that owners interfere the luckier they are”. “interfere” was probably not the word she used but that was the implication.
I don’t remember many racing quotes but another that will always stick with me is Mick Channon”s; when asked about a certain jockey (may have been Australian – Craig Williams?) ” jockies they’re a necessary evil”.
The ground at York this week has been softer than people expected?
Clive, I don’t suppose that you have visited our capital city, Cardiff, but the Millenium Stadium couldn’t be more ‘central city’. By the way, you would be very welcome and perhaps we could meet up to watch some cricket at Sophia Gardens which is just a couple of hundred yards further north. Have to warn you that I am very much a “coffin-dodger” but I do bathe quite regularly.
Wouldn’t it be nice to have some objectivity in the media. Every outlet seems to have an agenda.
“Too true colin. Oh and I didn’t get your mail by the way”
I’ve tried again (clivex or clivexx)?
One that has stuck in my mind is Caesar Beware, by Daggers Drawn. No connection to the dam’s name though, which was Red Shareef(Marju).
Nice report, nice to back a winner. Thank you.
I could have done without reading that, Clive.
The human race defies belief at times.
Stories of outstanding courage and aid on one hand and then something like this.
Gamble, is all around us
Gamble, is in the air……….and, if there is a God, I thank him for that.
