I noted in the discussion about the QE2 a few people
had commented that AOB was running Rip because he
desperately wanted Galileo to sire Champion Milers.
Ironic then on Saturday we may have seen Galileo sire
a potential champion at any distance including a mile.
While upset that they dont train him, im sure
Ballydoyle and Coolmore were not overly disappointed
with what happened. What Frankel produced especially
off a slow gallop was simply breathtaking and had it
been a scorching pace he probably would have set a time
which was close to standard despite the fact most other
races were run several seconds slower.
Opposition was
poor alright but had it been a higher quality race he
would have just made some top notch horses look silly.
Best 2yr old performance i have seen in my lifetime and
lets just hope he stays injury free, that is always the
big fear with these valuable horses. Wonderful too for
Cecil to have a potential superstar, Couldnt happen to
a nicer and more dignified man.
