She has only had 3 two year old winners and there seems a lack of talent amongst the juveniles.

The stable website still talks of Sir Henry in the present tense and I am not sure she is doing enough to really promote herself. I know she hates the limelight but she is now the boss so she has to.

I hope this is a just an end of season blip but I worry that she will struggle. Next year will obviously be huge and it will be interesting to see what support she receives from Prince K.

I see the stable website is now under development and will be ready for the new season joni. So that’s the first step.

Does anyone know what older horses are being kept in training at Warren Place? The likes of Noble Mission, Stipulate, Tiger Cliff, First Mohican. Also is the number of yearlings sent form Juddmonte up or down on previous years?

I agree with Triptych’s post about trying to get Mike Marshall back on board although as we don’t know the reason for him leaving in the first place it might not be possible.

One thing that might also help is getting another stable jockey therefore having a little bit of continuity. I know TQ had his critics but at least you knew who was riding the Cecil horses generally. Nowadays it’s unbelievable the number of jocks that are being used.

I’m also in the worried camp :(

Many Arab owners have difficulty dealing with women in authority.

As neither KA or Juddmonte have came out backing Lady C I find this worrying too

……..and now Queally is leaving to go freelance but that is probably more to do with the Abdullah/Doyle tie-up although I read no mention of Queally riding for Warren Place in future on a when available basis once he leaves but lets hope the split isn’t acrimonious.

I so hope that next year matters at Warren Place can continue to operate at the high standards of achievements of recent years but the smoke signals seem more worrying than encouraging.

It certainly is worrying though it’s not a great surprise TQ has left. Lady C has been using lots of different jockeys lately which was totally different to Sir H’s train of thought of only using a stable jock plus one or two others.

    Here’s hoping Lady C knows what she’s doing :(

Mike Marshall is now not joining Ismail Mohammed, but instead going to Martyn Meade at Sefton Lodge.

That’s a strange one. Wonder what happened there?

Did the Tiger not stay or was he brought into the race far too early? He hit the front 3 out and it is a long way home from there. I am not saying he would have won but I do thing TQ has lost a lot of confidence since losing the KA horses.

You might have a point there joni about TQ maybe hitting the front too soon on the Tiger. I wonder about TQ’s long term future with Lady C. Even taking out the KA horses situation Lady C has not been afraid to put other jocks up on her horses which certainly isn’t how Sir H liked to do things. Maybe it’s other owners having less confidence in TQ as well….

There is nothing more annoying that when a horse you have followed all year wins without you knowing it was even running. So it happened yesterday when Cape Peron bolted up in a listed race at Chantilly. I have been waiting months to back this horse on soft ground and he showed how good he was yesterday. They allowed him to go off at nearly 5-1. And I missed him. Livid.

Only a couple of weeks left and I have a nice profit but I am not playing safe and in fact I am having 5 bets today.

    I have backed

    Great White Eagle

for the Guineas and expect him to beat this lot easily.

    I will not desert

    Tiger Cliff

    in the big one.

    Premio Loco

is far too big a price and could run into a place.

    Lockwood

ran really well lto and I think this is an easier race.

    Flow

should have won last time and runs off the same mark today.

£100 win Great White Eagle – 5-2 – Middle Park
    £35ew Tiger Cliff – 10-1 – Caesarawitch
    £25ew Premio Loco – 18-1 – Newmarket 5.25
    £50ew Lockwood – 9-2 – Newmarket 2.05
    £50ew Flow – 7-2 – York 5.10

Don’t think the Tiger stayed joni

Flow run well but the 16/1 stable mate beats him. Lady C has learned well from Sir H it would seem

    Get on this

    Demonic

at Nottingham tomorrow. The money is coming already and I think he may be a shoe-in off a mark of 85.

    £100 win – Demonic – 3-1 – Nottingham 4.30

Ran very green again Joni I know it was only his 3rd race but he was all over the place in running. Think JD is suffering from TQ’s missing the break itis!

I see Demonic is listed for sale at the H-I-T Tattersalls sales later this month along with the likes of Continuum, Venue, Autun, Disclaimer and the rogue! World Domination. I worry for Lady C as 2 or 3 of those horses have the potential to win races next year for her. I’d have hoped that Juddmonte might have kept a few horses with her. Hopefully this isn’t a sign of things to come.

Great news that Lady Cecil has applied to continue at Warren Place next year. I’m sure that I’m not alone in wishing her every success.

    Hear hear Glad!

    Hear hear too

Delighted Lady Cecil is to continue. Hopefully Prince Khaled will come out and back Lady C publicly

I’m sorry but that was a shocking ride from TQ.

Are you on about his ride on Flow Joni? Though TQ got boxed in I thought he was a shade unlucky that he never got the split 2 to 3 furlongs out. When he finally got Flow out in the open I didn’t think Flow quickened I thought he was staying on and went past some beaten horses..

If your on about James Doyle I agree with you 100% he never got Continuum into the race whether because he was top weight he was trying to drop the horse out the back I don’t know.

I had been hoping for some "Danny McGrain" at York but it has not materialised. Connections say that Pallasator needs cut to be at his best, so it doesn’t look like he’ll get it.

Last year it seemed to me that Opinion ran

    his

best races with cut in the ground but he went and won on faster ground later in the season and has done so again, so it might be that he’s versatile and his poorer runs last year were more a symptom of a general malaise in the Stoute stable’s fortunes. He has a great looking profile but he’s skinny at around 6/1 now. He could well swoop late if staying the trip well.

Danny McGrain??? :D Are you a Celt Steve?

I’ve followed Celtic since the early 70’s but haven’t been to a game for quite some time. Football takes a back seat to some extent when you have a family. My wife is Rangers through and through but neither of us have any religious belief so that makes it a lot easier to co-exist. Scottish football is as poor as I can remember it at the moment but a good crowd at Celtic Park singing their hearts out still takes a wee lump to the throat. "For we only know that there’s gonna be a show…."

Good man Steve :) I’m a season ticket holder and supported the Celtic since the late 60’s. Gutted after last night though :(

I had my fingers burnt when I was adamant Repeater would place in the Goodwood Gold Cup where he came a miserable last, obviously he has to be respected but think his horses are more geared up to win smallish races quickly turned out than the big handicaps or group races. Will wait and see re. Pallasator, but I won’t be partaking.

Some fantastic racing today and pure joy to watch a genius at work. That was Mr Hughes today. Has there ever been a better jockey at Goodwood? I thought the ride he gave Toronado was out of this world, holding on to him until the last possible moment and then delivering him late and wide so that DA hadn’t the chance to eyeball him or come back at him. Then blow me down he rides an even better race in the next! Superb.

There is no doubt that the best horse won today and I would think DA will now have his work cut out to reverse the form if/when they meet again. I can’t wait to find out!

Tomorrow is all about one horse. They have been incredibly patient with

    Wild Coco

. Waiting for the ground to soften before starting a season that they hope may even include the Arc. This is how highly they rate the horse and I expect her to win with her head in her chest tomorrow. I am delighted to see her odds against and will have a nice bet at 5-4.

    £300 win Wild Coco – 5-4 – 3.45 Goodwood

She was very impressive Joni. Hopefully she’ll get the ground she needs between now and the end of the season. Interesting that TQ was full of praise for both Lady C and Mike Marshall.

The less said about TQ’s ride on Morpheus the better
