Surely the National should be a Hunter/Chase( STRONGER HORSES) at level weights not a handicap.
Has not the Clerk of the Course at Catterick Fiona Needham been found wanting when Clerk of the Course at other racecourses?
At some stage yesterday at Catterick should some fences or hurdles been ommitted?
I’m pretty certain i am correct about this Tote ERROR i just think anyone new to tote betting ought to be made aware especially if they are having a placepot at Cork AND Gowran Park today……4th place counts in the above races.
Its the launch of the final Space shuttle today…me thinks everyone should give the totesport website an e-mail "rocket" concerning this unproffesssional "error"?Also i might add the TOTESPORT website itself gives no indication that horses no 17 18 AND 19 are in fact reserves in these two races…..whereas other leading betting websites do.Again how many more "errors" on the TOTESPORT website?????
I might be streching the issue here( fair enough!!)Concerning this TOTE 4TH PLACE issue.IF the TOTE have been providing this misinformation for about a year now in Irish non handicaps with 16 runners or more MIGHT some people out there have a claim to 4th place totepool winnings?( Surely these people are victims of false advertising) These 4th place bets after will still be recorded on their TOTESPORT accounts.
Its to be hoped BETFRED notice this error or someone might have a case here as regards false advertising against the TOTESPORT website? Maybe Barney Curley and his relatives??!
Sorry forgot to add check out what i’ve stated at the 3 day CURRAGH meting in Ireland this weekend in ALL the non handicap races with 16 or more runners.Totesport also told me via e-mail they would rectify this error 4 weeks ago.Me thinks they have been in error here for about a year now i’m guessing
If you check out the TOTESPORT website by going into the totepool section and then go into the winandplace section under any meeting in the Republic of Ireland. You will see totepool terms places 1 2 3 4 advertised there for non handicaps with 16 or more runners.I’m wondering is this false advertising by the TOTE because 4th place no longer counts in non handicaps with 16 runners or more; are the public being misled here especially people new to betting?
I am absolutey certain TOTESPORT have been advertising the above place terms for sometime now. I think up until May 2010 TOTESPORT did payout on 4th place on any race type in IRELAND only. This offer was withdrwan by the Irish TOTE and it appears TOTESPORT have yet to update there own website.Again in the meantime people new to betting and there new customers( also the ones outside the uk) are being misled/misinformed when it comes to totepool place terms 1 2 3 4 in non handicaps with 16 + runners ? 4th does not count any longer here.
Thanks again for a very informative reply……….maybe they could have an amateur riders only bumpers at Cheltenham?( i don’t think i’m on my own with this notion),,,,,,,,though i have heard other points of view that the Festival should go back to three days because some folks say that a few of the races at the festival make little appeal?
HERE TIS !! Sorry i am unable to put the direct link on this forum. Its headed…….Southwells jump racing on the flat puts frustrated trainers on high………..by Chris Cook..THE GUARDIAN…………….THE Henderson quote is mainly centred on it " should be supported"…..to be fair i’m thinking to what extent ?
I’ve been looking for the Guardian ARTICLE from January 2010 whereby i swear blind there was a N.Henderson quote more or less saying he would be in favour of a turf N.H.Flat race meeting(if there was bad weather causing to many abandonments)..it was after they had had the very first jumpers bumpers at Southwell……….i’ll still keep trying to look for it………….i might be misquoting?
Final throw of the dice here ! The CHELTENHAM festival has only one N.H. FLAT RACE…………judging by the number of declarations for this one race….might they have two……along the lines say of the Ayr Gold Cup/Ayr Silver Cup on the flat? To the layman it seems to me yes the festival should have a majority of chases/hurdle races…but surely one more N.H. FLAT race would’nt go amiss…..i think its a bit lighter come mid March!
I’m thinking some of these horses which race in National Hunt flat races will perform really well on grass/turf in there first offical outing. So just say one end of the country has been suffering from severe weather for some weeks…there might be quite a few N.H. Flat race horses who need to race on grass/turf first not an all-weather surface……..so therefore could’nt a "jumpers bumpers" meeting on grass/turf be arranged?……….very sorry to press you on this !
Is it fair to say some of these N.H. FLAT RACE horses do need a grass/turf in there very first run.Mentioned in this thread was the "jumpers bumbers" meetings whereby every race on the card is a N.H. Flat race………i understand these meetings so far have only taken place on the all-weather racecourses………….is there any kind of case to be made for having a "jumpers bumpers" meeting on the turf/grass i wonder?
