Just wondering what you all think.
For me Michael Hills, seen in there at Kempton, for me just v v v v weak. Not one I would want battling for my power.
Very poor.
Over jumps its quite simple. Christian Williams

The ride there from Robert Havlin may earn him a few votes.
Remarkable how much trouble he found in a relatively open spaced race…
Wow not nice

Mr Newnes – Anyone???
Only joking but he absolutely should get a 28 ban (Just my opinion)
He has cost trainer,owner,punters,himself money.
Give him 28 days and he will never make such a childish mistake….
Just terrible watching it back, brainless

Worst on your own opinion, not stat related…
October 24, 2009 at 22:21 #255205Going by the jockey with the lowest winners to runners % isn’t fair as some jockeys obviously ride better and more fancied horses day-in day-out.

Oh dear oh dear Timmy hang your head in shame. To be beaten by Williams in a finish tut tut tut. You also miss judged the race aswell and gave this talented young horse too much to do.
Very poor Timmy

I bet you views are in demand in the weighing room. You seem to know sooooo much about race riding.

It’s amazing, Keith, that all of the jockeys you mention just happened to have ridden poorly (in your opinion) within moments of you posting.
There’s nothing like living in the moment, I suppose.
Let’s be honest, though, this thread should really be entitled ‘my betting-related review of each race within moments of its conclusion, with the poor bugger charged with riding my selection doomed to ridicule if unsuccessful’.
Can we not do something to rid the forum of this nonsense?

Hi Clown.
Just feel over protected.
If footballers put in a bad performance they are slated for days after in pub, on tv, in schools, offices across the land.
Lets stop protecting our jockeys, lets face it there is proof and pletny of it that jockeys have cheated us out of money before…
October 25, 2009 at 16:37 #255327Indeed Keith and if you want to do that then slate them in the minutes after the race on the Betfair Forum. Leave the reasoned critique of each ride to those of us who post on here and other such forums.

Just a quick question to all.
If jockeys were paid on a commission only basis (Like sum industries do), would you be more condident in jockeys?
October 25, 2009 at 17:14 #255342It depends – jockeys in France are paid far far far less than in the UK and are pretty much paid only on winnings and commission. Would you say it’s straighter than UK racing?
Having followed it I’d say it was – but then if you did something similar and paid a flat rate of say £15 a ride to all jockeys you’d just have it being topped up by unscrupulous individuals (owners and trainers, bookmakers etc.) and our prize money doesn’t justify us going commission only unless you’re looking at 10% of winnings and an increase in prize money (minimum 20k per race) or a higher percentage of the prize money for jockeys.
