Obviously Golden Horn must be high on most lists,on the go all year and hardly disappointing.
Legatissimo was my filly/mare of the year(maybe harsh of Treve) but her turn of foot in The Matron, was one of the highlights for me.
Ok,drum roll please,my winner for horse of the year goes to,the Freddie Head trained Solow.Tough honest and a tryer someone if a human, you’d want on your side, obviously he had a touch of class also, from Meydan to ascot a true champion.
I could prattle on but it is NH season.

Any views?i know i have missed plenty off(american Pharoah etc) but whats your thoughts?

Muhaarar was a beast and was a punters dream if you followed him. 16/1 in the Greenham, 10/1 in the commonwealth cup and to be 5/2 on champions day after winning 3 group 1’s in a row is unbelievable.
Of course, I only backed him at Deauville when a tasty 15/8.

Aside from all that, he was just great to watch and was clearly still on the up by the time Champions day hit.
Who knows how much better he could have been at 4.

    HOTY – Muhaarar

    Muhaarar for me as well.

Four Group 1 sprints in a row as a 3yo, for a horse on the go since The Greenham takes some doing. Shame we wont see him next year.

Got a soft spot for Muharaar after backing him at a massive price in the Greenham and after Ascot ante-post for July Cup. However, Golden Horn’s campaign was a harder one imo and deserves the trophy.

For going from rags to riches and her sheer gameness I’ll go for Covert Love trained by the next big thing Hugo Palmer. Big shouts for GH and Solow though.

Has to be Muhaarar..his July Cup win from Tropics was one of the most exciting races of the year for me.
It was between himself, Golden Horn and Shalaa but the latter will have his chance to win this next year. :good: Jac

I will agree to disagree and say GOLDEN HORN . Never beaten at level weights and won THE two biggest flat races of the year. NUFF SAID !!
