I have been waiting to give this horse a second chance for a while
Even Song E/W 14-1
Looked very good at Royal Ascot before being well beat at odds on for the Irish Oaks. After the Oaks it was later reported by the trainer that he may of trained her too hard to get to Ascot hence the performance.
Found seems to come to form in the Autumn and is a very short price, although would be no surprise to see her win.
August 17, 2016 at 19:01 #1260159Seventh heaven for me. Found may be ready enough buy the Irish oaks winner looks on the upgrade.
August 17, 2016 at 19:45 #1260169I might eat my words but I can’t have either of those two. Even Song wants some cut and Seventh Heaven has form that’s tied in with an average bunch of 3yo fillies.
I have it between Endless Time and Found with Endless Time providing better value. Found is top class, a brilliant horse but it’s been a stop start season for her and I’m not sure how tuned up she is for this and can’t help but feel she is being aimed at big races in the next couple of months.
Again, can’t be certain I’m right on that but Endless Time has progressed really well this past year bar a complete blowout in a listed race over 12f at Newmarket. She was convincing enough in her group 2 victory on soft ground last time after a long lay off and the fast ground should hold no fears.
The piece of form I am particularly impressed with is her listed victory in Ireland last year, beating Dermot Weld’s Almela very easily. That one has only just come back into racing this year with a great effort half a length behind Jim Bolger’s Stellar Mass. He was only 4 lengths behind Idaho & Harzand in the Irish Derby so the form ties in quite nicely for me.
It’s a tough one as Queens Trust is definitely another contender but Endless Time at 13/2 is the way I’m going.
Good Luck!!
August 17, 2016 at 21:46 #1260197Seventh Heaven upset the odds in the Irish Oaks. I thought Even Song was bad value there, as I felt the Ribblesdale was a poor renewal considering that Architecture didn’t run to form.
The Irish Oaks looked a mediocre renewal and the 5th and 3rd both got beaten next time by Best In The World, a filly of Aidan’s who had looked abysmal earlier this season and it doesn’t look strong form to me.
I prefer the older horses here and Found would probably be very short if she had shown her best already this year. She was big odds early doors for this race, as it was debatable whether she would turn up. She has the class to win this comfortably if she is cherry ripe.
Endless Time was a winning nap for me last time she ran. It was all a bit dour that day though. The ground was very different then and although she may well cope with the faster surface this time, it looked like she needed that greater test of stamina at Haydock in the mud. She has a good profile, which was why I was keen on her last time and she may improve for her first run of the season. All things considered though, I feel Found is intrinsically faster and classier than the Godolphin filly.
Charlie Appleby didn’t get much tune out of Hawkbill today and has had a few short priced horses beaten this past couple of weeks. He’s not quite in top form I feel.
Queen’s Trust got closer than she probably should have to Minding last time but she is on the up. She wouldn’t need to improve too much to catch the leading 3yo’s here, as I feel Seventh Heaven is probably a below average Irish Oaks winner.
I normally back against favourites but am finding it hard to get away from the notion that 2/1 Found is a good bet. Sometimes when we miss the early odds the tendency is to go looking for something else at a price but if Found is back to the form that saw her beat Golden Horn, she will clear away from an average looking bunch.
If the vibes are good in the morning I could see Found at 6/4.
Boring but I am going with the class act here and 2/1 is OK in the circumstances for me.
Found 2/1
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
August 17, 2016 at 22:08 #1260203No doubt Steve that if she is like you say ‘Cherry Ripe’ then on bare form this could be a procession but she has never raced in a group 1 after this long a time off (64 days).
The longest she has had between any race and a group 1 race is 26 days which sort of says to me she needs to have one behind her. She has ran in 11 group/grade 1 races.

This looks a weak Group 1 though Chivers.

August 17, 2016 at 22:55 #1260214Certainly the weakest she has been involved in. Might have a dabble on a forecast and a small saver on her. I’ll wait and see what the market says about ET.
August 17, 2016 at 23:08 #1260217I agree with Steve Found at 2/1 is a great bet. It will be like having a colt in the race with Found running she is a tough warrior through and through and with this perhaps being her final year before going to stud what better way to mark her card than taking a few more Group races along the way.
Lets not forget this is the filly who having been beaten by Golden Horn then went on to defeat him at Keeneland.

The fact that you can still get 14/1 about Even Song worries me a little to be honest. I was impressed at Royal Ascot, and I’m a firm believer in forgiving a horse one bad run I just think if the vibes were all go then she’d be hanging around the 8/1 mark not nearly double that, however despite this I feel she’s a good each-way punt. I’m hoping she’s not ground dependent. I did actually back Seventh Heaven at 25s for the Irish Oaks but that was mainly out of loyalty having been on board at Lingfield and now I feel 7/2 isn’t representing great value when a Breeders Cup winner/Prince of Wales’ runner-up is 2/1. I don’t think Endless Time, Furzia Cruzada, Koora, Loving Things, Harlequeen and Turret Rocks are good enough and I’m sure Pretty Perfect is a pacemaker. Fireglow could cause an upset I suppose but she’s 0 from 2 at the track at Group 3 and Listed Level. Queen’s Trust was perhaps flattered at Goodwood but saying that I feel she should have won at Newbury earlier in the season and was left with too much to do in the Ribblesdale. So if you managed to get on at 14s (available last week) then well done, but at 13/2 the price has gone in my opinion and you’re taking a risk on a horse who’s 1 from 5. Should Found be sound therefore, 2/1 seems a fair price and probably worth taking with Even Song not a bad each-way punt.
Selections:
FOUND 2pts win @ 2/1
EVEN SONG 1pt each-way @ 14/1August 18, 2016 at 00:30 #1260237I agree with Steve Found at 2/1 is a great bet. Would you not be a tad cautious though about getting stuck into a filly at short odds after a hard campaign at this venue? Remember Taghrooda?
August 18, 2016 at 07:35 #1260242Very wary about Found. As mentioned in another post went from 20’s to 3’s in 2 hours across the boards late last week.
After she was declared, the trainer stated something like we will make our minds up later if she runs. After that she went out to about 8’s and then back into 3’s. Now she is jocked up and ready to roll.
Someone has gone for a punt and if it is the stable and connections then you know what normally happens.
Backed Found @2’s for a free e/w bet.
August 18, 2016 at 07:44 #1260243I’ve laid Found and think she is among the worst bets of the meeting. Given that she has just returned from her mini break, has already had a busy campaign and might be warming up for bigger targets ahead (Arc, Champions’ Day, Breeders’ Cup etc) I think you’d be crazy to take 2/1 or shorter today.
Even at her very best, official figures suggest she’ll have a very hard time conceding the age allowances to the likes of Seventh Heaven and Even Song, not to mention a slew of other strong contenders.
Let’s get it beat, boys.
August 18, 2016 at 08:42 #1260246I like your confidence Soldier and there is enough there for me to believe she can be beat, but she is a long way off being a Lay bet for me.

At least it’s only 2-1 could of been a lot worse. I think some bookies will be looking at it differently
August 18, 2016 at 09:55 #1260251Wouldn’t back in this race, fillies too unpredictable but if Found is in any decent form she will win easy.
August 18, 2016 at 10:10 #1260252I have backed Found as the class horse in the race but I can’t help feeling LS3 might be right and that this race is a stepping stone to other targets and she’ll improve for it. Seventh Heaven looks nailed on for at least a place and could be the one to benefit of the fav is not 100% (as Aidan indicated she might not be…..)
"this perfect mix of poetry and destruction, this glory of rhythm, power and majesty: the undisputed champion of the world!!!"
August 18, 2016 at 14:18 #1260289Koora‘s walk in the market disconcerting, now 33/1 on betfair. Looked back to see why. She has form on good-firm, but firm going may be against it. Going yesterday verging on firm judging by some times and Koora might end up a non-runner. That said, worth taking a chance.
Queen’s Trust has shortened though still imo value. Best run last time in the Nassau, who here is able to get within 1 1/4 lengths of Minding? And this trip should bring out even more improvement, goes on the ground and stable in cracking form.
Connections of Found warned she is not fully fit. They’ve put in three stable mates which seem to back that up. Has some form to warrent being 6/4 if all were well. On course betting will be interesting. Nothing wrong with Seventh Heaven‘s Irish Oaks form, improving and should like the ground; just too short.
What was wrong with Even Song in the Irish Oaks?
Harlequeen was placed there and Epsom, but disappointed slightly last time; not showing her usual enthusiasm. This could prove too firm for her too.
As a filly, I like Endless Time, but this is a lot different to the ground at Haydock, ditto for placed Furia Cruzada and Loving Things (latter not good enough anyway).
Fireglow had the advantage of having more speed than rivals in a slowly run 1m4f last time and could prove flattered by that. If this is a truly run race can’t see her figuring. Stable not quite in the same form either.
Stable of Turret Rocks is now in much better form, but is she really good enough and will she stay?
Pretty Perfect may well be in here as Coolmore pacemaker, may (as a lot of them do) go off at a suicidal pace. If she doesn’t… is inconsistent but has a squeak on form at a massive price. Albeit ground again a possible negative.Value Is Everything - AuthorPosts
