William Hill, despite moving its online/phone sportsbook to Gibraltar, states in its T&Cs that English law and the English courts continue to govern its relations with those punters:

Ladbrokes’ online/phone sportsbook T&Cs state by contrast that Gibraltar law and Gibraltar courts govern its relations with such punters:

that does make it a bit more inconvenient for a GB punter to follow-up where legal rights/action are concerned.
but at least Gibraltar is a jurisdiction that has enacted legislation to mirror the UK position as regards legal enforceability of wagering contracts (section 50 Gambling Act 2005) and Directive 93/13/EEC (Unfair Terms in Consumer Contracts Act 1998).
so both far better legal environments for punters than Alderney.
