This is a great competition with a fantastic prize – you MUST enter!!

Ok, perhaps I’m biased, but I just love the refeshingly honest and passionate style which Emily employs to great effect in her paintings. I can’t think of much better than to have a print above my mantlepiece – who knows, Emily’s work may be unaffordable soon!
The prize is a print of an original painting Emily is going to do of the 2011 Cheltenham Gold Cup winner, whoever that may be.
The competition is simple – you just need to guess the number of winners, seconds and thirds (in total) that the following trainers will aggregate during all 4 days at Cheltenham.
Paul Nicholls
David Pipe
Alan King
Willie Mullins
Nicky Henderson
Philip HobbsEach winner, second or third registered by each of these trainers counts as 1 point. Add up the total points you think they will have and send that number (and remember you are sending just one number only – the TOTAL of all the trainers points added together) and then send your answer, along with your TRF username by email to :-
mail@emilyrussellart.com[/color:2uwwxf5d]
Entries close at midnight on Monday.
Either Emily or I will then post all the entrants on this thread. (It’s kind of a sealed bids style auction!)
Whoever is nearest the correct total will win the prize. In the event of a tie we will draw the winner from a hat.
It is a great prize so it’d be great to have as many entrants as possible.
March 13, 2011 at 17:44 #344655Good Luck to anyone who enters! I personally hope it’s Denman I’ll be painting!

March 15, 2011 at 14:58 #345190I’ve just realised I’ve made an almighty rick with my entry, god knows what I was thinking (maybe I thought the points were 3 for a win, 2 for 2nd and 1 for 3rd).
Anyhow I think it’s 7 out of 9 so far for those trainers after three races so might not be so far off.March 15, 2011 at 18:40 #345241Here are the entries from Emily’s site.

March 18, 2011 at 12:37 #345973Missed an entry – Scintiilate guessed 36
March 18, 2011 at 12:44 #345977Going in to today the total so far is….

March 19, 2011 at 01:36 #346136Final total was 37.
Quite a few I think are one point away but I don’t think anyone has it right so it may go to a play-off.
Confirm sometime Saturday.
March 19, 2011 at 11:05 #346179No one got it bang on but a few near misses who were only one point away-
JJM Sports
John006
Scintillate
Sir Rembrandt
Maxie777We’ll draw a winner out of a hat later today from the list above. Result online by 10pm.
David
March 20, 2011 at 21:48 #346480I was a bit unhapy about leaving the result to a draw from a hat so…
I’ve compromised. You’ve each been allocated (by a draw from a hat!) a horse each in the 2.40 at Kelso
Blackpool Billy – Sir Rembrandt
Chicago Outfit – John006
Border Reiver – Scintillate
Rossini’s Dancer – JJM Sports
Winter Alchemy – Maxie777(the other runner Maid In Moscow doesn’t count for this – she will be ignored so if you are second to her you still win. BUT if there is a non runner you will replace your horse with Maid In Moscow.)
Good luck all.
March 21, 2011 at 23:15 #346654JJM Sports wins it. Well done Jack.
Very unlucky the others, esp Sir Rembrandt who was on teh 7/4 fav Blackpool Billy who refused at the third after looking like he would rather be ANYWHERE other than Kelso.
Great competition, hope everyone ejoyed it.
March 28, 2011 at 14:35 #347622Get in, feel very lucky getting in through this, as I actually backed Blackpool Billy myself that day!
