he won a race at punchestown on good ground beating quevega and co if you go back far enough.
Don’t know what race you’re referring to EGS?
March 8, 2013 at 00:31 #431626Reve is fast
and
I believe he stays better than most fast 2 1/2 milers. Though I’ve done Peddlers Cross too.

sorry I do apologise the race I was thinking of did not feature quevega. He did have duke of lucca back in third though.
March 8, 2013 at 01:00 #431628The Nicholls horse incredibly popular 12’s from 20’s only had one run, Wonderful Charm.
Strange. Nicholls said he is his joint best chance of the meeting (alongside Sam Winner), but in a handicap.

Quevega and Duke Of Lucca – two peas in a pod
Best of luck with him EGS, although if it’s decent ground I’d fancy Oscar Whisky to reverse the form. If it’s soft I’d fancy Bog Warrior to come into it.
March 8, 2013 at 11:01 #431646I’m with RDS and have been since early Jan, however there’s one or two rumours going round about training setbacks and Nick Williams is a trainer i’ve not got a high opinion of, he treated punters/press abysmally with his switching of Alfie Spinner from the Welsh National, so i wouldnt expect any updates on wellbeing to come out of the stable.
As for Bog Warrior, he looks good and would be a big opponent, although against him he’s never been on these shores and most importantly has no festival/course experience which always counts for a lot.
The front two in the betting for me, Oscar @ 6/1 Hills offer is too good to pass up, but RDS holds all the aces.
March 8, 2013 at 12:35 #431654Grand Crus going for the World Hurdle!
Not any more, misses The Festival unfortunately.
March 8, 2013 at 12:54 #431658Ante post beans on Monksland, only Reve De Sivola can win this race.
March 8, 2013 at 15:29 #431675Reve De Sivola does set a pretty mediocre standard, I’ll give you that. Perhaps he will win, but that would mark this year’s race out as one of the worst in the last twenty years. Even My Way De Solzen’s year (swerved home ahead of the injured Golden Cross) would be better imo.
With Grands Crus gone, I’ll switch to Wonderful Charm. Iris’s Gift ran a stunning race here as a novice, so I don’t see that factor holding him back. He is easily a 150+ horse already and won’t need to find that much improvement to rustle up Reve De Sivola and co.
March 8, 2013 at 23:59 #431732Went through all the main protagonists of this last night. How Reve De Sivola is not a lot shorter than he is is beyond me. His hurdles record in the last 5 runs over them is 21211. All in Gd1 or Gd2 hurdles, one of those seconds was behind Big Bucks and the other was behind Peddler’s Cross in the Neptune.
Different ground conditions seem to have been covered, and he’s practically the only horse in this field to have won over 3m or beyond.
Is it just me? And I’m in no way a fan of the horse or anything. It looks like a poor renewal and he’s the only one who’s won over the distance.
I’d almost make him my NAP having not even considered him when I started looking!

Although not a nap, i’m beginning to come round to the idea that it could outstay Oscar Whisky and win by a few lengths. All depends on the pace
March 9, 2013 at 07:22 #431755Bog warrior has won over 3m. Underestimate him at your peril.
March 9, 2013 at 10:59 #431789i think oscar whisky will run a big race and on drying ground go close
March 9, 2013 at 11:46 #431798Ground is coming right for the warrior too.
March 9, 2013 at 12:42 #431808I watched the Cleeve Hurdle again this morning and I am actually warming to the idea that Oscar Whisky could reverse places with Reve De Sivola.
Oscar Whisky didn’t jump the last with any momentum that day and I just wonder if Barry Geraghty can get him to ping the last, it could be different next week.
The ground too that day was probably softer than Oscar Whisky would have wanted it, and I wonder with slightly better ground, that too could play to his strengths.
Interesting race.
March 9, 2013 at 12:52 #431809If Wonderful Charm heads for this race my 33s EW will look maSsive doubtful stayers and bad vibes means this race could be wide open and don’t underestimate this new recruit to the Nicholls yard
