Hello chaps, new poster here! Long time admirer of the site but thought I would get involved.
With the news that Big Bucks will not run, this has added an exciting betting dimension to this race. My first ante-post bet has been laid this morning. I give you Get Me Out Of Here.
It seems the long term plan for GMOOH is to step up to 3m and with his excellent Cheltenham Festival record of- 222, I hope he can go one better this March.
16/1 NRNB with Victor Chandler strikes me as a steal considering the question marks over whether a lot of the main protagonists in the betting will run. Although the strength in depth to the race will be stronger due to the injury to Big Bucks, I still feel the race will cut up quite a bit.
I feel if GMOOH lines up in March he will be at least half the price and if he doesn’t, then at least we get our money back.
In short I’m very happy with Get Me Out Of Here at 16s for the Stayers Hurdle!

Hi There Cat,
A good shout, a horse with talent and Jonjo readies them for March.
Just an observation on BetVictor – it’s non runner FREE bet isnt it, not NRNB?January 14, 2013 at 13:01 #426263Another one bites the dust. Sad to see Voler la Vedette retired, however she’s been well below form so connections have done the right thing. Could it be that Big Buck broke her spirit in the world hurdle last year?
I liked Paul Kiely’s piece in the Weekender on Reve De Sivola. 10/1 was a knocking bet, now best price 8s. For it to be a Front Page headline at this time of year shows the confidence he has in the horse.
Get me Out of Here 40/1 + on Betfair. Tempting given Jonjo’s record at the festival…but is this inside knowledge offering such a big price?
January 14, 2013 at 19:57 #426308I’ve thrown a tenner on Oscara Dara at 170 on Betfair earlier today. Won as he liked on Saturday and received a mention from Hendo in RP today. If Oscar Whisky doesn’t stay in the Cleeve, then his odds will surely shorten and I csn lay off for a free bet.
January 14, 2013 at 23:56 #426338I think there’ll be loads of entries. Even connections of Time For Rupert might be tempted – 3 lengths second three years ago
January 17, 2013 at 09:34 #426626Hi,
What does everyone think of Oscara Dara, personally seen as it’s rated too high for the handicaps generally, if it keeps to hurdling the World Hurdle might open up a first class horse.
I think the 20/1 with BV’s offer seems good value, as a lot of the market leaders aren’t certain to run.

January 22, 2013 at 12:39 #427104Backed two Ante Post, Monksland at 16/1 and Reve De Sivola at 10/1. Both look to be able to stay and actually run, that’s their massive advantage over the likes of Tidal Bay, Oscar Whisky, Peddlers Cross, Quevega, Grands Crus, Smad Place, Thousand Stars, Rite of Passage, Zaidpour, Bog Warrior, Dynaste, Kauto Star, Coneygree, Riverside Theatre.
The entire market is madness.
January 22, 2013 at 13:00 #427105I like Grand Crus at 10/1, he was traveling really well on Boxing Day until the heavy ground seemingly got too much for him.

Reve De Sivola for me also at 10s.
Going cold on Zaidpour after Monksland beat him fair and square.
Get me Out of Here at big prices on Betfair – Jonjo will have him primed for the festival, but he’s probably place material again.
Monksland is promising, but Noel Meade just doesn’t inspire me as when it comes to the festival.January 22, 2013 at 19:00 #427133Backed two Ante Post, Monksland at 16/1 and Reve De Sivola at 10/1. Surely Grand Crus proved that he can run and stay in the 2011 World Hurdle? Only lost to Bucks by less than 2 lengths and he traveled extremely fluently throughout. Obviously that was 2 years ago but he is the type of horse to be primed for the ‘biggest’ of races and providing the ground isn’t too soft I see him having a great chance.
Although I wasn’t even watching horse racing at that time so if I’ve missed something then fair enough.
January 28, 2013 at 19:55 #427828I’m interested to see Peddlers Cross over this 3m. Not saying he will win but it is wide open. Won the Neptune back in 2010. Maybe he’s a stayer and 2m was a bit on the sharp side??
February 3, 2013 at 20:53 #428403I’m also in the Peddlers Cross camp, if Donald can get him there? Seems to have had his problems and if over them could be the class act of the race (won the Neptune and 2nd in a champion hurdle). With Big Bucks not there could be a really competetive race.
February 4, 2013 at 16:03 #428484Could the tragic fall of Darlan at Doncaster today have a bearing on the direction Oscar Whisky takes?
I wouldn’t be too surprised if Oscar now heads for the Champion hurdle if there’s a bit of cut given how highly rated Darlan was by connections.
February 6, 2013 at 11:50 #428685I think Celestial Halo could get placed in this, not tried 3 miles yet but classier than most of the entries. Generally 50/1 at the moment and this his only target. Goes very well first time out also.
February 10, 2013 at 14:31 #429080Tidal Bay almost certain to run in this, gotta say I think he has no chance, only won impressive in his hurdle run cause of a mistake by Crack Away Jack who has done nothing since.
February 11, 2013 at 21:26 #429314Discount Tidal Bay at your peril if there is some cut, he is a reformed character, i can see Wonderful Charm running a massive race next season
February 12, 2013 at 12:51 #429382Gotta say I really fancy Tidal Bay for this 12 or not. He will def make the frame
