no probs, TAPK has covered the numbers bit for you
July 6, 2010 at 20:19 #305099Bucksy does the 3rd/4th place play off goals count towards the Golden boot winner?
July 6, 2010 at 23:13 #305125it does mate

Bad enough Sneijder being given a clear own goal (ffs) he then goes and scores a deflected one that was probably going wide

really hope spain get the chance to hammer them in the final
if they don’t germany will
July 7, 2010 at 21:19 #305325If he places i’ll be happy but will jumping up and down 4 days. Was sat in a bar in boracay with a dutch man and a german guy and when i told the german i was thinking of backing klose 4 the golden boot, he wouldnt have any of it and told me muller was the one to be on. When i phoned my world cup bets in i just got one of those feelings that if i didnt back muller he’d go and do something. He was 80s and klore was 25s and that swung it 4 me. He may not even place but think he’s been the man of the world cup so far and its certainly been the most exciting 80-1 ive ever done.
Referees and fifa aside, think this has been my favorite world cup ever.

Nothings changed though bb. Refs and fifa aside this has been my favorite. All 4 of my world cup bets have done me proud. Paraguay 66-1 and ghana 80-1 were cheated out of the semi finals. And germany 14-1 were the team of the world cup and after a string of biased ref and triumph were cheated out of a place in the final. Muller has obviously been hard done by but the 80-1 i got on him is now 12-1 and he has been the outstanding player of the tournament by a country mile. Different things appeal 2 different people but backing favorites and relying on them to scrape through games on unbelievaly biased reffing just isnt my cup of tea. Good luck with spain though.
July 8, 2010 at 10:33 #305398Your pocket is sooooooo funny I must admit

here;s a quick heads up before you wreck yourself:
Paraguay got that penalty for Pique’s foul. It was a clear penalty and not a red card (it seems you don’t know the rules). YOUR great team missed that penalty, not good enough? Paraguay had chances and couldn’t score, not good enough. Spain were good enough, and won the game, despite the ref "cheating" – in your words – Spain out of a perfectly good goal.
Mueller got a yellow card, can’t you handle that? Seems not.
Germany were absolutely dreadful against Spain, they were outplayed and outclassed and every German fan to have commented has said they were beaten hands down – because Spain weren’t the shower of a pub team that England and the Argies were.
You like to back at big odds and then moan and criticise when quality puts those bets in their place…you’ve made yourself look a total fool and…given your unrelenting pocket talk, I’m happy to mark you down as the kind of person who’s opinion on any sport, including racing, should be taken with a pinch of salt.
I hope none of your bets have come in, you don’t deserve them to.
July 8, 2010 at 11:34 #305411I was refering to Paraguays perfectly good first half goal that got disallowed and shocked everyone with eyes, let alone a television showing a broadcast with replays. Then piques lack of a red card which even shocked the commentators and pundits. Then a blatant hand ball by the argentinian demaria, no whistle, blatant handball by messi. Muller catches a bit of the ball and gets a yellow to put him out of the semifinal, one of the most controversial calls in the world cup, but not with u. Then germany meet spain minus their star player, and bearing in mind that germany had went down 2 10men earlier in the tournament because klose had challenged from behind and not got the ball, Ramos gets none of the ball and puts in a malicious studs out very late "straight red" challenge on podolski. Not even a yellow, not even a free kick. Then Ramos, who should have been on at least a yellow, gets none of the ball when he brings down oezil in the box. No yellow, no penalty. Of course, your not biased Bb, u just missed all that. FWIW i dont think i’ve had any call to date 2 take u seriously or not in betting, maybe i’ve just missed ur flashes of genius. But genuinely hope ur bet comes in, because although I always go with the outsiders I usually dont mind them gettin beat, but when theyre not beaten on merit i thinks only natural to feel slightly aggreived. I dont agree that germany were outplayed y,day, but in mid field they definitely were and thats what cost the team as the midfields failure to attack or even hold the ball which put constant pressure on the defense, who actually did a sterling job to hold spain as long as they did. I also dont agree that Germany played negative as swienstieger played the ball forward to the front 3 on so many occasions, but there was no service for klose or podolski like there was in previous games. Thus I am of the opinion that mullers ban swung the result, and the failure of the ref to take any action against spain when they were out of line swung it even further.

I’ll leave you in dreamland Bulwark crikey, ever tried the Betfair footy forum, would be to your liking I think..July 8, 2010 at 12:02 #305418Oh dear…just clicked that in the heat of my annoyance at the world cup ive somehow got into arguing with the sort of poster i usually dont bother. Good luck with spain anyway, because i’m sure u and ur money will soon part if proverbs are anything to go by…
July 8, 2010 at 12:51 #305431Bulwark, I see you mention a "straight red" challenege on Podolski from Ramos, yet you choose to ignore Podolski’s challenege on Ramos in the first half that was a stone wall penalty.
I backed the Germans to win the world cup, but how on earth they were cheated out of a place in the final is beyond me. They were given a masterclass in the art of possession.
July 8, 2010 at 16:06 #305483Wouldn’t try to work out what he’s on about THM; he’s totally clueless as everyone can tell.
Back on topic
3rd place playoff I’d expect Germany to be able to play more freely back against inferior opposition, not sure how much interest Uruguay will have in this.
a 0-0 fizzle out lacking energy would be most welcome though
July 8, 2010 at 16:20 #305485I know exactly the challenge u are talking about thm. And although that was as u stone wall penalty call, as u say, u’ll actually find that it was in the 2nd half, by which stage Ramos shouldnt have even been on the pitch and by which stage germany should already have had a penalty, would u not agree? The spanish did outpossess the germans, but so did argentina and germans still beat them 4-0. The two games were almost identical in that germany soaked up wave after of attacks, the only difference being that germanys counter attack without muller was virtually non existant.
