Hi All
Just read about todays work at Sandown.
The bare performance beating Confront by 5 lengths over a mile sounds pretty impressive to me. After all he is currently rated 107 (previous as high as 116) and a Group 3 winner to boot. All that over a trip more likely to suit the older horse.
Did anyone actually see the piece of work ?
Interested to hear any viewsSeptember 21, 2010 at 19:41 #318644Hasn’t run well since December, completely out of form. And anyway, Workforce only beat Confront by 6 lengths LTO over a trip that would put the older horse at a huge disadvantage, especially given that he was the pacemaker.

Work gallops aren’t quite the same as racing though are they, and this was certainly over a grossly inadequate trip for Workforce
Prior the work it was stated that they were using the best lead horse in the yard and an older excellent worker who was his regular partner at home and who is difficult to get by.
Now I don’t know if that was the same horse, but if it was, then they must be mightily impressed with him.
I hope that his King George performance was just a blip, but only time will tell.
Then again he won’t need to be an all time great Derby winner to win this years Arc in my opinion. - AuthorPosts
