Am I right? I have them at 6/4 a piece personally. I can’t split the two. At the odds, Harbinger is the bet every time for me.

    Hi.
I agree that I wouldn’t rate him as an odds on jolly. Having said that I will be happy to be proved wrong and for him to prove himself a star.
My reasoning is that I am none too confident of the stable form at the moment. That backed by at least 2 serious rivals in the form of his stablemate and an ever dangerous O’Brien rival makes me think that he should be odds against.
Not going to have a bet in the race but just going to sit back and enjoy it.
Good luck with Harbinger if you are having a bet

I’d like to see Workforce turn out to be great, and he may well be another lightly raced Lammtarra type.
No bet for me neither, i’m happy to just speculate from afar on a small field KG where I cannot split the first two. No way would I back Workforce though, in any circumstances, at odds on.

I think it shows that the middle distance 3 year olds are a moderate bunch this year.
Having said that, it was some performance by Harbinger. He must have improved more than 2 stone in the last year.
I look forward to watching him again in the future

I look forward to seeing Harbinger win the Arc and be the next Sea Bird after that performance.
That was an outrageous performance, although WF has run below form. No doubt at all.

Kicking myself I didn’t back Harbinger. 4-1 second favourite was a mad price.

Wouldn’t have backed Workforce at 6-4 never mind odds on. Hard to say what happened but I don’t think he was meant to jump that well as sit so close up. Not much Richie Mullen could have done to help. Stoutey said Moore said he didn’t switch off, which did for him.

Also, I got a bit of needle on here after the Derby when I said he definitely wanted softer ground. Think it’s fair to say he won’t run on anything even that quick again – he hits the ground too hard – maybe partly cos he’s still learning but I think it’s just his action. Also, contrary to what the BBC tell you (does anyone actually listen to Wee Willie?), when I was lucky enough to see him before the Derby he isn’t a "giant"….and if he is, Jan Vermeer is like the Peter Crouch of the horse world.

All credit to Harbinger though – what a performance. Roll on the Arc.

    Well,

Harbinger ran a blinder, and I’m not sure Workforce could have beat him on his best form. Ryan Moore has been brilliant this year, but his pick of WF over Harbinger has really got me scratching my head.

However, there has to be some explanation about the WF performance. He lost about the same lengths to Cape Blanco that he did at York. He had tons of trouble in that race. You couldn’t say that race was true to his form.

On the other hand, it seems very much franked by the same result now in the King George.

My feeling is that he must have sustained an injury of some kind in this race. I hope I’m wrong. Surely there has to be more of an explanation that what we’ve got so far.

Sorry to say, but hereonin Workforce’s racing career will follow the same path as Sir Percy. Here today and gone tomorrow. The post-race interview with Stoutey should have told us all we need to know… it was obvious to me that Workforce is not held in the greatest of esteem by the trainer and is now just an afterthought. Mikey knows that the Derby was a one-off due to unusual circumstances. Harbinger’s victory though impressive on paper has some serious question marks in terms of did it only flatter to deceive?
