Does a listed 2 yr old race count as a big race discussion? …..Well….it does now :-)

Just had a look through the race and I really Like Misty Grey in this @ 4/1.

Trends wise horses usually need at least 2 runs to win this, so just on that, you could count out most of the runners.

Misty Grey has the best form based on his last run, 7L win, didn’t beat much and race suited grabbing the rail, but Mark Johnston seems in decent form and has won this race a couple of times recently. 7L win in any race is worth looking at closely. Very nicely bred as well.

Outside draw is a concern, but De Bruyne Horse won this 2 years ago from the outside draw before getting the race taken away from him.

Anyone else looking at this race? 4/1 Seems very decent price to me.

Had to back RAYONG in this for obvious reasons. 8/1 looks an okay price and managed to get on three places each way!!

As you mentioned Frenchy, there wasn’t a thread for this race before you raised it. I
did post a bit the other day in the Godolphin Competition thread in the Racing Competitions
    Forum……….

Pinatubo is in the Woodcote and
looked impressive on his debut at Wolverhampton, he could be anything as they say and I think
100/30 with Coral is a decent bet.

I’m pretty pleased with that as he’s best priced 6/4 now. I’m very hopeful :good:

I think it does, Frenchy :good:
I went Pinatubo all the way before his odds melted, I have him for 11/4.
I saw his debut run at Wolves, he really won like a volcano, and his form was franked yesterday when Platinum Star won gamely. Moreover Appleby is in good form with his 2y :good:

I was the first one to bring Pinatubo up in the Godolphin Comp thread Graham, but indeed you have the even better odds then :good:

Hi Hein, not trying to steal your thunder mate, you did indeed mention him the day before I
did, but perhaps with a little question mark about him to Jac ……..

I like his Pinatubo in the Woodcote Stakes, but I’m not sure what he would do against those Johnston horses
Any views, if you know him already?

I fancied him quite strongly, and grabbed the 100/30. Doesn’t really matter who 1st mentioned him,
as long as we both win. All the best :good:

Hi Graham, you are absolutely right. At this stage I wasn’t sure enough for a bet and to be honest I overlooked that you mentioned him with 100/30, but then I did some research and shot the 11/4 at the right moment, as later the odds shrank massively.
Of course it wasn’t meant too serious from me who was first, but how should you know, if I don’t set a smiley, right?! Indeed, it would be a nice win for us both so all the best to you too :good:

Cheers hein, we’re both singing from the same hymn sheet and that’s what matters. Let’s hope
we’re still singing just after 2 o’clock on Friday, I think there’s every chance that we
will be. Good luck to us :good:

I too am on pinatubo at 10/3. Anyone that follows me on Twitter may have seen i was keen on him being declared.

Also on Angels Hideaway if the price is right in the Surrey Stakes. I’ll be there Friday as usual too. One of my favourite days of the flat season.

    Pinatubo at 10/3

Well pleased with that, although I must admit I was wondering at one point if the Johnston horse
had just stolen a march on them. He looks a useful sort. Well done Hein and MOM, he looks a
    useful sort :good:

Well done winners- would imagine the Johnson horse has went too fast in front there + and it’s worked out perfectly for Pinatubo. Who knows though!

Well done BigG, Hein and MOM. :good: Winner did it well, but wouldn’t write it up as Coventry class. Could be flattered by the way things turned out. Franny did the right thing in getting a good start from the outside draw but went much much too fast early with Misty… Showing 5f speed. In the circumstances Pinatubo missing the break slightly probably helped… And the runner-up looks a 7f horse too. What did Pinatubo beat? Winner also got upset in the stalls, which could be a problem in the even more atmospheric Royal Ascot.
