Wolverhampton Race Help Please

I found a race I wanted to study in the BHA 2010 Principle Races list (which btw, I think is an excellent resource for non-industry people like me, particularly as an Excel spreadsheet you can sort).

I digress. The race I was interested in was THE DINE IN THE HORIZONS RESTAURANT WINTER OPEN STAKES (LISTED) at Wolverhampton on the 4th February….but it’s not on that days card. Any ideas what’s happened to it, has it been re-scheduled or cancelled ?

I can’t see any other Listed race like that in the program book for the next month, so I presume that the conditions race on the Feb 4th card is a downgraded equivalent to the Listed race.

The race was scheduled as a Listed race last February on the equivalent day, but that meeting was called off, so it was never staged. I can’t find any record of it in previous years.

At a guess, I suspect the decision to downgrade it is a money saving measure.

I was suprised when I came across this race, as I’d never heard of it before. You have helped me by confirming it wasn’t run last year.

A shame really, as it looked as though that was my sort of race…I’ll just have to wait the for the Ladybird stakes & the Winter Derby trial!
