Talking about a wasted journey….3 horses in Deauville and they can`t get to race, last week 2 meetings knocked out, tommorrow and Wednesday are gonners, talk about incompetetance, the idiots that run the course would win a gold medal in “unorganised chaos“!!

I think Francois Douman put French Bureaucracy up as is biggest complaint in life………..i will go along with that!!

I seem to be on a good run at the moment having planned to do Wolverhampton today (abandoned) and Fontwell on Wednesday (looks an odds-on certainty to be called off when they inspect tomorrow)

Will try for Southwell tomorrow – let’s see if I can put the mockers on that one as well

It’s the kind of selfless gesture for which we should all be thankful, Paul.

Not surprised it was called off. It was pretty snowy in these parts. My shoes got wet crossing Tesco car park with my trolley full of Mothers Pride.

On the subject of the Trades Descriptions Act, I was disappointed to find upon tuning into Kempton on Boxing Day, that not only were they racing on the wrong bit, but it turned out that there was no Hunting at all. I’d a good mind to send a stiff letter.

There is nothing wrong with the track at Dunstall Park that moving it about 150 miles south and east wouldn’t cure.

I have long suspected that the polytrack at Wolves was a dodgy batch anyway – you don’t get these shenanigans at Lingfield.

And, bearing in mind the turf and jumps racing hasn’t and won’t be on for a while, those fans shouldn’t knock AW racing but should be bloody grateful for it.

Enjoy Southwell Paul, don’t forget the fish and chip shop, it’s worth the visit and the soup is not bad either – my tip for the day, get your soup first and take it to the fish and chip shop so you can dunk the chips in it.

For those that are only interested in jumps racing you can do what you’ve been doing for the last week, watching re-runs of cheltenham ’02 and maybe surfing online for a new grey cardigan and pair of velcro slippers

Simon – I always love going to Southwell for its fantastic, friendly atmosphere – on NH days!!!

Not sure about the fish and chip shop – for me it is the pie counter and, more importantly, the sweet shop!!!

Joking aside – the fields are a tad disappointing at Southwell today with only the first two attracting double figure fields and the others with seven or less.

The fish is always too greasy (NAP)

Pork rolls are far more of a Rolleston staple!
